Our fans tend to become over enthusiatic about their regional heroes. When Saurav Ganguly was dropped, Dravid inherited his team and went on to win quite few matches at a stretch. His calibre as captain came to fore by the time his own team settled down. Nothing needs to be said beyond this. The present Indian team is Dhoni's team built over some tome. Two victories in arow with stand-in captain does not reflect anything in particular. A captain's mettle is more on test in a Test match. We all know what had happened in NZ when Sahwag had taken charge for one Test match and what happened in the preceding and succeeding matches.
Give chance to untried players like tyagi n also to dinda. Rest bhajji n take ojha. Afterall, v dont hv to lose anything. that way bench strength can b tried with youngsters getting feel of the intnl level, selectors vl see their talent, seniors vl get much needed rest.
good that sachin has opted to rest for such inconsequential series. so youngsters can get chance. but y rohit. there r many others waiting in the wing. rohit has been given umpteen chances but he failed. rohit must hv some god fathers in the bcci. or was it a mumbai quota for rohit, if that was the case then mumbai's rahane was a better choice to try. there r many others like rahane, pujara, vijay, mukand, badri who hvnt been tried.
