thats called saturation point. To have a world class 11 member cricket team, a minimum requirement is that the country should have 10 million. Just by increasing any further in population, you will have more choices but still you cannot increase the standards beyond certain point. Otherwise, India should have 4 or 5 international teams. Each team should play with different countries for 2 years. Then they can rotate to play with another countries. Sounds ridiculous!!

Why to Critisize
by Scrap Writer on Dec 25, 2009 03:34 PM

Enjoy the taste of victory and do not critisize Tendulkar or Sehwag. We should be proud enough and should infact praise the victory which was brought by two youngsters. If it would have been 10 years back and two down india would have finished the game at 120 odd runs. Therfore this is good prepration for 2011. WELL DONE INDIA.

WHAT A VICTORY
by Prodipto Ghosh on Dec 25, 2009 02:42 PM  | Hide replies

Itwas red letter day in the annals of Indian cricket at the Eden gardens on Christmas Eve
when they thrashed Sri lanka by 6 wickets, chasing a total of 315 made by the Lankans. We have found a new star in Virat Kohli
.... it was a fantastic innings played by this
youngster in front of thousands and thousands of fans in Kolkata who were simply enthralled by the knock of Virat Kohli.Gautam Gambhir also played a gem of an innings and guided his junior partner throughout. After India lost both Sehwag and Tendulkar very early these two
made sure of our fantastic victory with their
brilliant display. WELL DONE INDIA.

By the time I reached home from office, the God of Indian cricket was out. So, I happily sat in front of the TV to watch Team India play. What a treat it was from the young Virat Kohli (who was dropped from the 3rd one dayer after scoring an equally well made 54 in the 2nd one dayer)and the experienced campaigner Gautam Gambhir. When finally just 7 runs were required for victory and Karthik hit a 4, there was no Gavaskar or Ravi Shastri screaming that Karthik should not have hit a 4 or 6, depriving the God of Indian cricket a century. So much so, without even any fuss Gambhir reached 150 and there were no ex-Bombay cricketers screaming for the blood of Karthik. All in all, it was a satisfactory match to watch with Team India, sans the God of Indian cricket, winning comfortably and for once the focus was on the other 10 players of the Team. The other 10 players in the Team have also been performing more often than not the last 20 years, but they seldom get noticed or get mentioned by the Media. Well done Team India. Keep it up!

Drop Ishant Sharma
by Kinshuk Majumdar on Dec 25, 2009 01:25 PM

Ishant Sharma has been too inconsistent in the recent past. He needs a break for about ten matches because one feels that he is tired and out of rythm. Praveen Kumar and if necessary Sudeep Tyagi can play in these matches.

Kohli and Gauti really made India proud. They chased down a humongous total rarely breaking sweat. The entire chase was unbelievable... not many boundaries but just picking singles....and what placing!!Kudos to both!!

why was kohli inducted into the squad in the first place...when badri was dropped...this poor lad from Tamilnadu keeps piling on the runs in the Ranji only to be left out year after year...I dare say...If sachin was playing for Tamilnadu he would still be licking his boots in Ranji Trophy...such is the power of politics & money in cricket in indai

which is inferior...you moron go and have a luk at the TN Vs Mum ranji score this year...This is what i call politics in cricket...you people just want india to be a North India XI thats all...thats why a cricketer like Rahul Dravid...does not enjoy much support as a kohli or a sehwag.. would do...despite being a match winner & a team man in his own right..

For your information .... Rahul Dravid is a Maharashtrian like Sachin is. Another piece of info ..... Maharashtra is Western India, not Noth India. K Srikkanth was India's longest serving 1 day opener before Sachin broke that record. He was from TN. Enjoy the next match with this knowledge
