poor chap had a horrible day with the gloves, he has no permanent position as 10dulkar in the indian team, he cannot make 20000 runs even in his dream as sachin can in the near future. he has to prove his mettle with his bat and he did it. sachin wont be too too pissed about this. we need to win and win only, this is a team sport. mind it

he is not getting enough chances.even if he performs well,whenever he got opportunity.people are blaming him for his good innings.This is Indian cricket supporters attitude.
If Sachin wanted to score a century and he instructed Kartik to play accordingly, Kartik would not dare to say NO. The way Kartik played and Sachin enjoyed each of his shots with a laugh, simply means that Sachin was all for victory and not his century. It seems we want his century more than he dooes. And for God's sake India won the match is all that is important. Lets not give too much importance to his 96 - I mean more than the victory.

there is nothing wrong in going for a personal milestone when there is no rush for a victory. people should use their common sense better. since he is not a team man, i dont see any bright future for karthik ahead.

I am surprised at the comments been posted here. No one seems to appreciate his quick runs rather saying he denied Sachin's century. Some people here seems to question Karthik's integrity,saying he was selfish. His career is an example of how selfless a player can be. He is a middle order wicketkeeper batsman. But when Sehwag was awefully out of form, he was asked to open in SouthAfrica & England. Then when Dhoni was in team, he was asked to be a fielder,which he had never done before. He has only 2 oppurtunity, he has to take it,prove that he is here to stay. What else you could have done in this situation. If anyone calls this as selfish act, they are not speaking about reality. Sachin is a great player, he has told time and again he does not care about century ,he wants to play a match wining innings and play till the end to see the match off.So ,i dont see whats the fuss is this about?If Karthik does not hits a boudary, he is a team man,if karthik hit a 4, he is not a team man.GROWUP KID.

Very True, becoz of his this mentality he will keep on serving water to the tems. He is another fool follower of SRIKANTH. He cant make 10 runs when needed. Whats bad when someone crosses 100 while winning. I am sure he'll be beaten by many including Gary in the dressing room. The fool man. Thats the difference between MSD and the FOOL Karthick..some million from Tamil will be praising his fool knowk..but i am sure Billions people from world would be abusing him for spoiling the real fun.

no doubt kartick is a fantastic wicket-keeper batsman....but he lacked these simple sensitivities....he should show his batting skills when he is made an opener or have a long innings to play...he shouldn't have gone for the sixer when the fielders were brought up...that changed the hopes for sachin

The emergence of Jadeja as the 5th bowler is key to India's success in the ODIs. Already, he has helped India win this one, but his ability to complete 10 overs on a consistent basis is crucial. I think Ishant should continue because of his ability to strike and if he can take top order wickets, followed by Jadeja, if allows Jadeja to settle into a rythm. Though Praveen is more accurate, Jadeja cannot bowl to a well set batsmen. India had difficulty defending 400 in ODI one, and the combination of Ishant/Jadeja should be more effective.
