I had lot of respect for sanga but look what he has done. He has droped jayasuriya ist to the mddle order and then from team altogether. How on earth can you drop a man like sanath who has one most of the most awesome record against india. Since 1996 i have grown up watching sanath demolishing indain attack right from prabhakar to ishant sharma. And if he failed with bat he has always been there with bowl to mess up the indian party. Mark my words..this is going to be a very close series which lankans are going to loose cause of this decision from there think tank. If it was up to me i would select 6 sananth clones to play against india.

THEY CAN ATLEAST RESTRICT THE AGE LIMIT... IT SHOULDNT EXCEED 35...GIVE THEM PENTION OR LET THEY BUILD A HOUSE .. ATLEAST THE GRANDPA WILL AGREE TO RETIRE WITHOUT BEING A BURDEN TO THE ENTIRE INDIAN TEAM

Performance and not Age is the Driving force for any Professional. Insted of selecting young cricketers like Ashok Dinda, Oldies are Tendulkar are much better option.

I heard a rumour that India and SA plan to convert their ODI series in Feb-Mar 2010 into a Test series in India. Is this true?? If it happens that would be fantastic! - there has been too many meaningly ODIs this year....
We are giving too much importance to cricket so much other sports are suffering. The examples are bad performance of India as a country (with 1.2 billion population)in olympics.

bhikari,you live in fool's paradise.If cricket is all uncertainty,then why are the aussies no.1 for so many years? Cricket is a very predictable,boring game.Hence it is patronised in just 8-10 countries.
I think this is just a try to explore if BCCI can find replacement of MSD.
I never came across such news, that a captain of team banned to play mathes, just for the team could not complete the required over in given timeline. (at the most team has to pay penalty).
this may be a CHAAL of sharad pawar and his cooligues.

Mr kid.... there are several captain who got banned for same reason.... for an example... Ganguly got banned for 4 times for the same reason. Dont comment when you have very little knowledge. And if you still cant believe then read Times of India today. (Bangalore edition - you can read it online...LOL)

if the slow over rate was for the first two times, it will effect penalty. if it happens again in the same year, the captain will be banned for a minimum of 2 two matches....according to ICC norms dost:)

And he ended up losing the final test in India by bowling part-timers instead of front line bowlers, to speed up the over rate, and avoid being banned. The aussie media made a big deal of it, calling him selfish.
