Dilshan gets most of his runs by driving to long of and cutting square. Unfortunately Dhoni never keeps good fielders in those positions. In Yesterday's match it was wrong on Dhoni's part to place Zahir Khan in long off when Mathews was in crease. Zahir Khan, who was tired to hell after bowling his heart out, gave a boundary to Mathew in crucial time and also dropped a catch of same player when he skied a ball.
A young fielder with strong legs like Suresh Raina, Jadeja or Virat Kohli would have definitely came very handy in that position and situation. Dhoni's field placement was very poor but fortunately Lankan Captain was no better!
It is unfortunate that a top deadly combination of Sehwag and Gambhir who perhaps the most feared opening pair in the World is broken to accomodate a World record holder Sachin who bats normally as No.4 in Test format. with Sachin's vast experience he can bat even as No.2 in the ODI whereas Gambhir's position is frequently changed to give Sachin the opening slot. We have seen what happenned to Gambhir in ODIs. He is confused and ran himself out on 2 occasions. Why this selfish motive of Sachin coming in the way of India's performance. He and Harbhajan should retire from ODI to bring young talents. Kohli gets opportunity when a middle order batsman injures himself! What a pity. Only in India this idol worship is carried on. If Sachin wants to play let him come as No.4. Sehwag & Gambhir combination should not be disturbed.
But the question here is whether we need Sachin or Harbhajan for ODIs? How many matches these two seniors have won for India in ODI on their own?

Dohin is the main culprit he is changing the position of gambhir every time..for his own benefit. In ODI gambhir should come at no 3 always at any time of the game..
We the indians praise and take a batman or the bowler to the top of the world after getting a century or 5 to 6 wickets. But as soon as in the next match he fails to take runs or wickets. In the case of Dilshan it is not.
