Sachin The Player of the Century ! ! ! !
by swetha on Dec 18, 2009 10:49 AM  | Hide replies

When ever sachin makes 100 and india loose then people says sachin should retire.
When a batsman makes 100 then he has already made his contribution towards winning a match then it is the duty of a bowler to win the match.
So sachin always make effort towards the match winning but he not getting support from other 10 player.
Sachin is the Greatest player of the century ! ! ! ! ! !

why are you so negative minded..? why are you underestimating team India..simply because it is Indian team..may be the bowling is a little weak but that is bound to improve..and catching should be improved..that's all ..but comparing India to Kenya is the limit of stupidity..

bring bangladesh for a test series they will certainly agree to play test as they will be avialable, and play with them a series of 5 test match, it will be beneficiary for both the team as India can have an opportunity to won the 5 matches and earn an unaccessible lead in the point tally and bangladesh would have an opportunity to play against a top class team which in turn make them good

Stupid selectors - Less test matches- no equal balance !
by Anil kumar on Dec 18, 2009 10:40 AM  | Hide replies

No equal balance ! Why selectors dont have
brain. They are scheduling too many 20's & ODI's. IPL takes 30% of the time in a year.

They must have 9-12 test match against-
3 0r 4 countries every year for India to remain number 1 !

ODI's are as usual !

Twenty's are enough to IPL level and few matches would be fine at international level.

BCCI should make it sure that every year in an average, INDIA should play 8-9 tests and 25-30 ODIs (not more than 30 in any condition) & at the max. 5-6 T20s.. in this way they will be able to maintain a balance between all the three versions of the game and thus keep the interest towards the longer version of the game i.e. TEST MATCHES among cricket lovers like us. otherwise no or very few good quality & skillful players will come up in the future after the exit of the fav 3 (sachin, rahul & laxman), there bound to be a huge gap to be generated 3 yrs from now when the big 3 guns have already retired & fulfill that no. 3, 4 & 5 position in the batting order of the INDIAN TEST team, it is very very difficult to fulfil that gap, even players half of their calibre is difficult to find (almost 31000 combined runs with 85 combined centuries already, so they may finish with 34000-35000 combined runs with 92-95 combined centuries). It is almost impossible to replace them with same quality players, that is also 3 (1 is difficult, so u can imagine 3 is almost impossible if not impossible). So to ensure that new players having close to or even half of their calibre going to fulfill those 3 positions, we need to play atleast 8-9 TEST per year in regular basis in an average.

for your information to all the guys, bad news for us INDIA, sehwag is out in the first over. INDIA 4/1 now after the 1st over. gambhir & sachin are batting. INDIA won the toss & elected to bat; they should have field first as they are very week in bowling & fielding.. anyway, prepare for 1-1 scoreline after this match, sehwag's consistancy is what matter not to put him at par with all the all time greats, particularly lack of consistancy in ODIs.. the reason in ODIs he tries to be even more aggressive while in TESTs he gets ample time for his attacking batting, keep on pilling runs, he tries to hit ball too hard in ODIs as shastri mentioned, that's why is not at all consistant in ODIs, as in the paper it is written, he plays TEST in ODI mode & tries to play ODIs in T20 mode, that is the reason of his failure to be consistant in ODI format of the game..

Selectors also must get paid for performance like players
by Anil kumar on Dec 18, 2009 10:35 AM

Selectors also must get paid for performance like players

Why there is no cap for selectors based on their performance. They must be paid based on the success of the Indian team players.

Simply they cannot get a handsome fixed salary
when India lost Hero Honda cup, Asia Cup,
Champions Trophy......why their salary must be hiked. They are good in firing coaches & players.

why not the selectors are not punished for many stupid selections and mistakes !

the team would b busy in IPL and T20 WC for about 3 months then in 2011 there is ODI WC. so very limited scope for test matches till 2011 WC specially for india.

good 1 but could have been better
by deewaker pandey on Dec 18, 2009 09:38 AM

its good that BCCI is organizing test instead of preplanned ODI. but it could have been better if it could be 3 test series.bcoz 2 test n 3 ODI between 2 top teams will nt b enough. they could have planned for 3 tests instead of 2 test n 3 ODI. teams would b busy in IPL and WC thereafter. so it seems like there will be less scope of test matches next year.
