Tendulkar invented the shot of pace bowlers when he scoop the shot to deep thirdman, when pace bowlers try to bowl bouncers , also vertical lap sweep shot
has all the traditional characteristics associated with genius. He will do with great ease for which other normal people have to toil hard. As everyone knows, a basic characteristic for geniuses is there interest in music. As Sehwag has said several times he sings Sai Baba bhajans & Kishore Kumar songs to maintain his focus while playing. When he scored 195 at Melbourne the run rate was 3.51, as soon as he was out, it dropped to 1.51- no other player was able to score at his rate. In NZ he was the only one to score 2 centuries on tracks where the ball would land in 1st slip after pitching on leg. When faced with the menace of Mendis, he almost destroyed his career, that is y Mendis was not a part of the playing 11 in India. When he scored 201 n.o against Mendis & Murli, no other player could even score a 50.As someone pointed out in a TOI column or editorial, a good player will spot the ball early but a great player is ready with a shot as soon as the ball is out of the bowlers hands. Other players take a long time just to study a bowler.
BCCI is bent on arranging matches on flat tracks and asking other boards to do the same.
I bet cricket will not survive for long ---a genuine cricket lover want to see contest between bat and ball, not over 600 or 700 runs from both teams--where batsman's stamina rather then skills are tested, and where good bowlers look ordinary and ordinary bowlers look poor.

you seems to me the most cynic person in this world. You gave got issue in most genuine praise for Sehwag. Do you have any GK of Cricket? Sehwag has scored runs on every pitches, do you remember his 195 in Australia in 2003 and 153 again in australia in 2007? His match winning 201 in galle(Srilanka)last year or his match winnin 254 in pakistan?
