Rotational policy
by Sathish kumar on Dec 14, 2009 08:36 PM

Guys like Pujara, M Pandey, Badrinath, Dinesh Karthik are in good form...

Selectors were speaking about rotational policy @ the opening of the year... R they dare enough to rotate with experienced guys atleast in the test team by giving anyone of these players a chance...

Irfan Pathan
by gaurav manchanda on Dec 14, 2009 08:12 PM  | Hide replies

In the last 2 years, India has won some very very big matches like T20 world cup, CB series, Perth test. In all these matches, Irfan was the part of the team. In T20 world cup final & perth test he was MAN OF THE MATCH. Also, in the 2nd CB series final, he was the one who bowl the last over of the match. In that match, Australia need 13 runs from the last over. Irfan was bowling the last over & he used his experience to get JAMES HOPES out through his ver slow delivery. James Hopes was early into the shot & he mistimed it. This was possible only due to the cricketing mind of the IRFAN. he know hat Hopes will try to hit the bowl for four or six, Irfan read his mind & removed pace from the ball & rest we all know his mistimed hit creates history in INDIAN CRICKET.

Currently, IRFAN is India's best batsmen at NUMBER 7 in the batting order. he can score quick runs at that position.
If u look at India's current bowling attack then except ZAHEER, all the fast bowlers bowl with an economy rate of around 5.5. Irfan also gave some amount of runs but his batting and fielding makes him best candidate as the number 7 batsman. he can bat in high pressure situations and al;so can attack the opposition even when his team is in little bit of pressure. he can effectively score 4s or 6s in the death overs
Jadeja cannt do this even in the dreams & he tumbles in pressure. In pressure situations, jadeja's vision is limited to the 22 yards pitch, he cant see fielders' placement & get run-out.

Irfan is definitely a good choice... Not as a replacement for yuvi but as an all rounder in the team.. Considering both his bowling & batting form, he can definetely contribute...

Remember he is one of India's hat-trick taker.. Encourage him guys...

It is good to see Dhoni atleast encouraging out of form guys like Yusuf, Ishant, RP Singh, Rohit, Jadeja... So y cant he give Irfan a chance... Y cant the selectors give him 2 matches and let him prove his selection...
I dont see any reason y he is out of the team..

He is not in the team because of the BCCI's rotation policy..only one member from one family should be playing at a time..Australia also follows a rotation policy..not this kind, though..

Dhoni is playing politics ……!!!
by Cricketexp on Dec 14, 2009 08:06 PM

Irfan would be the first choice as an all-rounder and he might be lost his pace, but he is still the best for all-rounder slot in India.he is still a better batmen than all these selected new guys…. and all pulling up his leg for his poor pace .....Think about all team and they all have good genuine pace / medium pace all-rounders… but in India we have POLITICS…

Aus: - Shane Watson, Brett lee, Johnson
Sre: - A. Mathews
SA: - J. Kallis
WI: - D.Bravo
Pak:-
Eng: - Stuart Broad

India: - Dhoni can bat at no3, ball, wicket keeping and more over big politics….. And self promoter than anyone…. Truly business guy not fit for a good prospective Indian team.

Yuvraj replacement
by gaurav manchanda on Dec 14, 2009 07:57 PM  | Hide replies

It is totally impossible to understand that how virat can replace YUVRAJ (no one can replace Yuvraj but here his replacement is required). These days, dhoni uses Yuvraj as a bowler for 6 to 8 overs, but Virat cannt bowl. This will affect team's balance.
Selectors should pick someone like Yusuf Pathan, Rohit Sharma or may Irfan Pathan. The best thing about all these players is that they can bowl some overs with an economy rate of around 5. All these three are much better batsmen than Virat. The worst thing about Virat is that he still lacks maturity as a batsman. he score 20 runs easily but after that he looses concentration & start playing lofted shots. In case if selectors do not show trust on Yusuf, Irfan & Rohit then they shud pick Dinesh Karthik ahead of VIRAT.

Right now, selectors cant pick any one of these for the 1st ODI, but they shud have made this decision by SUNDAY.

mr. satish i have asked for ROHIT bcoz he can bowl some overs. He is not a best bastman but he is still better than VIRAT (NOT THAN IRFAN).

selectors will not select IRFAN (Not due to his form/performance but due to some unknown reason)

Mr.gaurav manchanda, Irfan is in good form in the domestic series... Take a look at this domestic series track record... He is even captaining his side..

Rohit is not even regarded as a part timer as Yuvi.. He is used as a gamble or to tease the batmen... Just 2-3 overs..

About Irfan,
Irfan = 2xJadeja in Strike rate
= 3xJadeja in Aggresion
= 4x Jadeja in fielding
= 5xJadeja in Batting Skill

Hope u agree on this...

Mr. Satish, i m one of the biggest fan of IRFAN PATHAN. If u r regular to this blog then u can see i always appreciates IRFAN.

I always follow irfan's performance even in the ranji matches.

You are not understanding what i wanna say. I m saying that our Selectors (all are mean & DIRTY MINDED) does not like IRFAN PATHAN. THEY ARE IGNORING IRFAN NOT FOR CRICKETING REASONS BUT FOR SOME DIRTY MINDSETS.

I am saying that selectors will not pick IRFAN at any cost but after IRFAN the best avaialble option is ROHIT SHARMA.

According to me, IRFAN is a much better BATSMAN as compare to jadeja, rohit, virat, abhishek nayar and dinesh karthik.

Irfan bowling is also better as compare to RP, Munaf, Sudeep Tyagi, Balaji, Dinda, yusuf pathan & sreesanth (better than sreesanth in ODIs, T20 NOT IN TESTS).

If u consider current form, then IRFAN is good with respect to out of form ISHANT (IN ODIs)

virat kohli again!
by girish on Dec 14, 2009 07:52 PM  | Hide replies

its confirmed that there's some conspiracy in selecting virat kohli again and again whenever some main player is injured though he's in lousy form!!! players like manish pandey, badrinath and many others who are performing consistently in ranaji being overlooked..!! and kris srikanth will select only players from tamilnadu and if you see at karnataka ranji team this time u'l get many good players and they have not lost even a single match yet!!!

india has lots of talent wrt batting.there are too many talented batsmen but we have never found a replacement to kapil dev till now..where as, otehr teams always had genuine allrounders..if we can produce players who can always bowl fast and bat for a longer time, then india will not have any problems.

Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey and Badrinath are better than VIRAT as a batsman. But i think, one of the selectors definitely have some physical .... with VIrat (u undestand wat i want 2 say). Virat's small age & his white complexion may be the reason for his selection.

Sachin blocks Dhoni's chance to come at one down
by km vb on Dec 14, 2009 07:35 PM  | Hide replies

sachin playing ODI is making inconvenience to
1)Gambir to adjust at one down
2) Opening combination of Delhi players in Test,20-20 and also in ODI gets split in ODI
3)Dhoni used to come down at one down for winning team and also for team performance.

no one can dare to ask sachin to play in the middle order. its up to sachin & he is the only one who can make decision that he will play late in the order.

The best thing between sehwag and gambhir is that both are always eager to take singles even in the early overs. On the other hand, sachin do not normally take singles when he is new to the crease. It is very well known that if sehwag do not get the strike on consistent basis then he gets frustrated and start playing loose shots to move the scoreboard fastly.

In some cases, when sehwag is not comfortable in the early overs, gambhir starts scoring runs quickly thereby giving sehwag some time to get his eyes in. But sachin dont do this.

Nobody can question about Sachin's talents or his ability.... But apart from the inconvenience to the opening combination, he is been an ball analyser nowadays by watching the ball move for the first few overs and letting the momentum go down.... He has got tons of xperience and he can use it to bring stability in the middle order....

Y he comes @ No.1 in ODI and NO.3 or 4 in Test..

But as gaurav manchanda said, Sachin knows where he can deliver his best.... But is it best for the team?

An Indian Cricket Lover Writes
by alok sinha on Dec 14, 2009 07:30 PM  | Hide replies

I am an Indian, and want fellow message readers and writers to take my message in the sporting spirit. I do agree with a few that Virat Kohli is being given enough opportunities, but let us not bash him for his selection and neither abuse each other for our personal opinions. In my opinion Irfan Pathan does deserve another opportunity, he may have lost his pace and confidence too, but poor fellow needs to be psychologically handled and confidence needs to be shown in his abilities. Most will agree with me that even at his lost pace he is a better bowler than V Kohli, and even as a batsman he always has played better than many on many occasions, more importantly he is a genuine ALL ROUNDER,that India lacks at the moment. He should be made a permanent fixture in the team as an all rounder, be it one day or 20Twenty, even not a poor choice for Test matches either. Lets hope that he clicks and finds his lost touch and again become a force to reckon with, if this happens then India will certainly be in a good position, and we need players like him to be geared up and raring to go when we start our 2011 world cup campaign.

Dhoni is influenced by Sharad pawar--- kursi nahin chodna chahatha hain. Guess he is taking special classes in that. Ravindra Jadeja has proved to be a waste and so has RP lost his form but these guys regularly make it to the final eleven. I wonder who's next on Dhoni's list to face the axe?

I agree with you that Dhoni is harsh on a few players and soft on few, but that is a case with all of us, but let's pray to God that he remains a cricketer who plays the game and not politics. As far as Sharad Pawar is concerned he is a true vote seeker and will prefer Sachin Tendulkar or Rohit Sharma but not Dhoni.
