This is a perfect example of how we Indian's do not allow capable people to grow in India, that is the reason why you have lot of Indian's successful in abroad but not in India. Mr.Lalit Modi should be commended for his role played for the success of IPL and it is a pride for we Indians to make Overseas players opt for IPL instead of representing their country.

Modi is a rogue who shud be arrested for fraud. If you had any idea about his dealings and match fixing, you wouldn't be talking about his "success".

If removing a corrupt match fixer and fraud is jealousy, so be it. Show me one deal which Modi has done where he is not "WANTED" after the event is over. From his fraud while studying at Duke University ( yes, he's wanted in the USA) and now he cannot go for IPL to south africa again after defaulting on payments. In India everyone knows his bookie connections and its only his backing by Sharad pawar and Dawood Ibrahim that has saved him till now. The whole world knows what IPL set out to do and what it does in reality. Its is nothing but official match fixing.
if it was his brainchild, well done to him. cos its quite successful and got a large audience. but if now somebody else can do better job, then he should step down.but he looks like he is doing a good job. anyway dont know how long IPL will be successful.. its entertaining and done on huge scale..so kudos to him as indian for pulling it off
Mr. Modi how about removing yourself and your big load of bullsh*t called IPL out of Indian cricket. The Indian cricketers are known to be distracted during the most placid of times. With all these ads and commercial shoots, they have enough to fill their coffers. The IPL is an added bonus no doubt but it's also an added liability to Team India's fortunes in T20.
How does it look when it is: Sehwag vs Dhoni, Yuvraj vs Bhajji etc just before the T20 world cup in 2010 ??? man ! we are talking about team building and unity NOT rivalries !!! For God's sake throw this IPL and Modi out of the country.

IPL is designed not to bring the best players and make them compete in india. it is designed to cater to the production companies like nimbus, IMG etc who bring in their presenters, TV replays, wannabe models/actors who interview players on the boundary lines. why? because all this will improve their TRPs. so dontdont assume even for a minute that the IPL is the greatest thing to happen to cricket. they organizers and producers of the show (read lalit modi) are taking you for a ride. and the cricket itself isnt all that great. the players are in it for the money, not for the joy of playing.
perhaps you would change your mind if you take a break and really understand your cricket.

You forgot the match fixers. IPL is better known as Indian Fixers league. Ever wondered why those 10 minute "breaks" were introduced at the 10 over stage. Think and you will know the answer. It is nothing but masala, sleaze and match fixing.
