we have to wait and watch dude. Any person who constantly improves himself will be able to achieve his goal. Comstant improvement demand husge sacrifices, ability to withstand troubles and most importantly having a good positive attitude. why jaffer? there are lot more cricketers from kambli to ishant sharma. Either sreeshanth or vijay, they are no exceptions. They actually decide their future. Sreeshanth made a blunder in the past and has comeback with some luck. Hope he does'nt spoil it. Vijay looks to improve and has actually improved a lot compared to earlier. Let's wait and watch
we are proud of you sehwag, keep it up, anf 3rd santury,we will be very happy. we have to win this match, we are all with you. Triveni Kumar Tiwari LASA Guwahati
This is an area India will need to look at within the next 2 years.Sachin,Dravid & Laxman are players who have been the backbone of Indian middle order. Now India must seriously think of grooming a bunch of players, probably about 4 to 5 of them and give them the right exposure. This is where the NCA has a role.Few players who come to my mind purely based on current form, who can be groomed are M.Vijay, Manish Pandey, C.Pujara,Rohit Sharma & Badrinath. Though Vijay & Manish Pandey are openers, they shoud be groomed for the No.3 slot as India currently have th openers slot sorted out with Viru & Gautam.Suggestions are welcome from all as to who can replace the fab 3. I have jus put my views across.
Re: Replacement for Fab 3
by vinay on Dec 06, 2009 04:29 PM
true. but its good to keep openers as openers only. no need to convert them for no 3 slot. coz an opener can bat in any position but not vice versa.
Re: Re: Replacement for Fab 3
by vinay on Dec 06, 2009 04:30 PM
yes groom them as openers n they can b fit into middle order also. n v can hv specialist middle order like pujara, badri.
Vijay played well. Dont forget he is playing in India and on a pitch that has little for the bowlers with slow turn not helping bowlers much. I think Pujara is a much better bat than Badrinath technically as well as Patience wise and should be given chance in the next test series in place of Badri. He shows the sort of maturity that is rarely seen in a player so young. The kind of consistency and the big scores that he is able to come up with so frequently should convince the selectors to pick him up for tests as well as one dayers.
Please Mr. Srikanth and co see beyond Tamil Nadu and select players who really deserve to be in the Indian team. Ashwin, I have seen in a few domestic matches and looks very ordinary and Badri and Murali Vijay although look good does not seem like players who would do well on testing conitions of Australia, South Africa, England and New Zealand.
However I appreciate your decision to bring Sreesanth back and giving chance to Dinesh Karthik.
I also think Virat Kohli is as good a bet as Pujara for one dayers and thoroughly deserves the chance he has got.

Dumb Analysis! Vijay played so well and he looks technically looks so good & elegant. He shows good maturity & lots of temporament. How can yo say 'Murali Vijay although look good does not seem like players who would do well on testing conitions of Australia, South Africa, England and New Zealand'. You are really Stupid. Badri - have you really seen him bat.'Pujara is a much better bat than Badrinath technically as well as Patience wise'-This is second Stupid comment. To say Badri is not having patience & techinique,is something like saying Sachin does not have class. No offence on Pujara. He deserves a chance. I really dont see Laxman role. He is not playing ODI,T20,India gets 3 test matches in a year, where he gets chance in 3 innings,in which he fails in one, scores in 2 innings.

Dunno why you guys come to a judgement without even giving an opportunity. This is crazy. Here's someone who has been given an opportunity and has performed commendably. Encourage him and don't jump into conclusions stating that he cannot play in Australia, South Africa and stuff like that. Common wake up maaan.

Miss kavita,
I believe you have bought a cricket bat recently. Having a cricket bat does'nt fetch you much cricket brains. You are talking about cricket conditions? For you information, Aus & SA wickets demand solid backfood technique by default. After a long time, I saw a guy in our team, just in his 2nd test match to have a good solid brilliant back foot technique. even after years of cricket many indian batsmen never really had it. (ex: Ganguly, VVS, sidhu, kambli, Jadeja etc) Even Dravid developed it anly in later years after going through couple of series in SA and australia. Vijay looks confident in his backfoot and should be groomed to be a better backfooted cricketer. What's this pujara? Has be been born and brought up in brisbane? Vijay played as an opener in IPL in SA against bowlers as Dale steyn, Dirk nannes, Jerome taylor ( ever heard the names? ) & also against murali and warne and proved to be a clssy player among youngsters. If someone deserves a chance to play abroad, Undoubtedly it is Vijay for his solid superb back foot technique. Badri and Rohit are also very good with their back foot techniques. Selection should be primely based on solid back foot techniques of the players as the conditions tests it in abroad. If such a selection is made all the 3 will make it based on their talent for technique and temperament. You claim pujara is better in technique? Did you watch IPL? Hussey has praised Badrinath for his solid temparament and technique and said he
Re: Re: One Day and T20 Team
by prithviraj on Dec 04, 2009 09:32 AM
is another dravid in making. Are you better than hussey or hayden to say badri is’nt good in tecdhniques. Badri has played very vital innings for CSK, several times in both the IPL. He has displayed good cricketing performance against quick fast bowlers in south africa. Without hussey and hayden in ist IPL and without hussey in the 2nd IPL he took the team to better heights. In fact in the 2nd IPL, even without hussey, everyone including shane warne predicted CSK to win the cup as we had won even Deccan chargers in the league, but sheer bad luck we lost to banglore in the semis. Badri was vital in making people believe that the team can win the IPL. Let us groom players as Rohit, vijay, badri etc to play better cricket as their back foot technique and temperamnet is good. In what way pujara has convinced that he will be good in Back foot techniques to handle the fast bowlers in fast tracks in abroad? Most of the players who proclaim to be great in domestic matches has only good front foot technique and struggle against quality pace attack due to their lack of back foot techniques. We can seen this, year after year in newcomers in international cricket. Understand, what is required for cricket in abroad.

In india's tour to new zealand, Vijay scored a magnificent 95 against the domestic team. He scored well even when he plays for the first time in NZL
In a interview Sehwag had said that his success and ability to score big was because all he does is watches the ball and hits it...lol...so what do other batsmen really do?watch the sight screen and hit the stumps?hahaha Murali Vijays success with the bat proves Muthiah Muralitharan (the chuckers)time is up...he should retire after this tour which he might.he isnt like someone who wants to play for ever...
Re: Vijay blames shot selection for his dismissal
by Raman Shiva on Dec 04, 2009 01:04 AM
Well he has to say stuff like that to praise himself in a indirect way,its as if he tells us he played really well and deserved a century and got out due to shot selection,50 percent of dismissals are due to shot selection and these guys tell stuff we already know, they say it as if they discovered it first
Like how Sehwag tells us he just loves to watch the ball and hit it Like how Sachin says he wants to play and not retire cause he is proud to represent the countrrrrrrrrrry, like others represent their street teams.. and now Murali Vijay has joined the bandwagon...good for u
Bhajji is itching to slap Sreekuttan and Ohja(who misfield ed of Bhajjis bowling a few times)

this isn't complaining, it is taking responsibility for a bad shot, and a bad case of shot selection. That's all. He looks very comfortable at this level of cricket and he has a bright future ahead of him if he is consistent.
