why care about the 15 degree bend in cricket, when we live in a nation and world where politicians and businessman bend the laws and rules more than 90 degrees and we accept it gleefully.

before the bending rule of 15 degrees, he was free to chuck and during that time he had bagged almost 600 test wickets..if u take them out, he has genuinely bagged 188 test wickets only..wat a shame to cricket and ICC that they have allowed him to go scott free for these many years..

its something like, allowing sachin tendulkar to bat with an aluminium bat..hence, murali's record is not at all a record...

Murali
by Rohit on Dec 02, 2009 08:58 AM

Murali is great, so is Warne. But i do not know why i used to get stuck to my seat when Warne used to bowl watching him over after over but no such effect with Murali.

The sun is setting on this old war horse. I do not think he will perform exceptionally but we should still give him a respectful farewell.

even shane warne found it difficult to get wickets against INDIA and so does MURLI. There is no doubt that ge is a great bowler but the Indian batting has loads of experience playing spin (Dravid Laxman Sachin) the others are in good form so its going to be difficult for Murli....unless the pitch gives surprise India has bagged another series win.

750 run-outs, not wickets
by sandeep kumar on Dec 01, 2009 01:38 PM  | Hide replies

As Bishan bedi said, this chap's wickets should not be called wickets, but run-outs. EVen I can come to the crease and throw the ball at the stumps for 15 years and get 1000 wickets. Its a pity that ICC allowed him to play and thanks to the 15 degree law, we have enough chuckers like Brett lee, shoaib, shoaib malik, botha, sarandeep etc.
Harbhajan should be rated higher as he's got the cleanest action among spinners.

First of all, it's unfair to call him a chucker. With all due respects to Bedi (he was aterrific bowler, no doubt, Bedi has a penchant to shoot his mouth and make controversial comments. Even if Murali is chucking, doesn't mean that you can get the ball to do what Murali does. Even by your argument, none of these so called chuckers (Lee, Shoaib, Botha or Sarandeep) got the same number of wickets or even close to Murali?

Murali is the best cricketer after Bradman.
Re. 'chucking'
It was confirmed in aiCC study that other than Ram Naresh Sarwan (a part time bowler) all the other bowlers 'chuck' if you apply the 10% rule and almost all of them are Ok if you apply the '15%' rule.

Talk is 'cheap'. Loose talk is even 'cheaper'!
