Murali will definitely remember this Indian Tour for rest of his life as Indian batsmen will leave a permanent scar on his record. This silent assassin will find his balls massacred without mercy. It would be truly memorable!!

M.Muralidharan....
by Anurag Rathore on Dec 01, 2009 12:17 PM  | Hide replies

In my view S.Warne is better bowler than Murali because of following reasons:

1.Warne's record is much better against strong opposition. While Murali record is good in home and vary good against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh like minnows which make his stats better.

2.Warne has clean bowling action and more variety in bowling. While Murali has controversial action and less variety.

But one thing is very confused that if he is chucker then why is he not getting success now and why was he average bowler from 1992-1996?

Murali did not have a fantastic fellow bowlers like Mc Grath, Lee, Gillespie etc to help him. Vaas, Malinga at best have a spark here and there but never threatening. Murali had to attack the opposition single handedly.

IF Murali did not have fantastic fellow bowlers like McGrath,Lee, then it means less competition for opposition wickets. And remember they pushed Murali too much so that he can create world record. In this regard, Murali is at an advantage when compared to Warne.

Exclude Bangladesh and Zimbabwe for both bowlers. Still Murali's record is better! You seem to be biased.

Re. 'chucking'
It was confirmed that other than RamNaresh Sarwan (an extremely part time bowler) all the bowlers 'chuck' if you apply the 10% rule and almost all of them are Ok if you apply the '15%' rule.

my dear friends ... murali has taken most wickets on the home soil and other sub-continent pitches which would offer lots of turn for spinners ... and to murali's credit - he can spin, he really can ...

but warne has EARNED his wickets on bouncy Australian pitches ...

for me there is only one greatest spinner .. thats Warney ...

Murali has a cleaner action that most bowlers if you look at him bowl side on. His elbow doesnt not straigthen and that gives an illusions that he bends the arm and chucks. Brett Lee was suspected similarly he too cannot straight his arm completely.
Warnes records if compared to Murali's against stronger opposition even then Murali wins hands down.
S Warne is a great bowler but Murali surely is his equal if not better.
Also remember Warne played in a team which had a great team. Murali is not a sucess in this series but I dont really remember Warne doing much against India either.

kingston, on one thing we all agree he is a very great bowler and is the best, in every body's life there are ups n downs, what ever happens on the field, at least we need to respect him for his feats, its not common for bowlers to get 783 plus wickets in international cricket whereas no bowler in ranji trophy has ever achieved such feat looking at the competition and pitches. murali is in the end of his carreer so lets at least gv him the respect he deserves
