Bring back old and real Cricket.

Why cant we bring the good old format of cricket?

Even 5-day test is not a talent tester. The 5-day restriction should be removed. Both sides should bat two innings still all batsmen are out. Between every 5 days, 2 days could be given for rest.

There will be a result and good for talented players. Moreover even elder players could also play. This format will bring back those glorious days.

Nibiru:

Nice suggestion, but, there was no ODI or T20 those days!! In present day cricket where we talk about 'cramped cricket calendars' and various tournaments; timeless test match cricket is just not possible :)

Aus test side is still good.....
by Anurag Rathore on Aug 27, 2009 11:41 AM  | Hide replies

It was just a bad series for Australia.

The main worry for Aus is ODI format. Aussies selectors are making mistake like pak selectors by taking so many allrounders in ODI. S.Watson and M.Clarke are good allrounders. There is no need to play with J.Hopes, Ferguson, D.Hussey, D.Warner etc in ODI format. Aus selectors should select A.Symonds, S.Katich, S.Marsh, S.Tait, Hughes like players in ODI.

In test Aus should go with specialist opener like P.Jaques rather than S.Watson.

Boss Anurag,

D warner is not an alrounder but a specialist batsman and so is David Hussey.

Ricky Ponting should carry on in both format
by Tapesh on Aug 27, 2009 10:07 AM  | Hide replies

Ricky Ponting should carry on in both format. He is a great leader for team. He should quit or resigns from captainship where he feels that enough now i can not play. Otherwise he is a gem for Aus cricket. How can anyone forget that he has won two successfully World Cup pride for his team.
