wrong umpiring is to be corrected by use of mobile hand sets given to umpires for example leg before wicket if out must be conveyed to main umpire and leg umpire by the third umpire with the help of action reply within 1 minite of appeal human errors can be checked by main frame high speed super computer

Australia

Australian Team with Gilchrist, hayden, Mcgrath, Warne, Waugh bros was way way n far ahead of all the other teams. The difference between the performance was so very vast hey hardly ever faced stiff opposition the one only i can remeber was the series against India in India & ashes of 2005. If we leave out those two series they dominated cricket for almost 15-20 years. That was the best team ever played cricket.
I read some comments here that Australians were winning because of Umpires i think its the most rubbish comment.
Some also had their views about Ponting & his spirit & honesty towards game citing the example of dropped catch in Sydney Test against India. See wheteher u like it or not Ponting is one of the best batsman in the world and when he hangs up his boots probably he wuill bge regarded as one the greatest ever to played cricket so if u love the game at least show some respect to the opposition, we are not at wars its sport after all.

mr. derrick,
Australia's victories were due to their great players. thei complete domination was due to umpires. winning 16 tests on trot, not being defeated by india in 2008 and earlier. against South africa in 2006, etc. etc. when aussies had near 100% record, that was with umpiring. They would have still been the best team in last 10 years. But the "dominating best", "far from others" type of status in the statistics were due to umpiring. Aussies were a dmn gud team. that due to their players. The "god like aura", was not due to skills of players. THAT IS THE POINT...

;-)..... Funny comment.... :)

Umpires were - for some unknown reason - making errors to only help the Australian team, and no other..... :)

Wow....

Maybe India dominated hockey during Dhyan Chand era because of umpires/referees?..... :)

Thank God for Australian kangaroos have been hunted & slaught
by charles raj on Aug 24, 2009 01:46 PM

Just as i expected, wished prayed and dreamt these australian kangaroos have been slaughtered once again. They lost their test supermacy when those kangaroos had been humiliated by the South Africans in their soil. Now once again kangaroos have been hunted.

Ordinary series
by shekhar deshpande on Aug 24, 2009 11:41 AM  | Hide replies

This was by far the most ordinary and class-less series.. the performance standards were poor.. clash between the equals - two mediocre teams playing with lot of hype..
On the current form, both teams are definitely beatable by South Africa, India and Srilanka. if not for the hype of "Ashes".. this was a forgettable series.

Agreed! Matches were not that much excited those were in 2005. But, the excitment is England beat Australia again. Beating Australia and that espicially in test is a superb felling in its own.

This right time to change the captain ...
Ponting is not a match winner and he has given his wicket by run-out... his place is also doubtful for next world cup

Yup, it's an umpiring's mitake!
What about Punter's f**king fingure? When he pointed out that he has taken a clean catch despite of all replays that showed it's a dump catch.
And bad umpiring is something that goes for both the teams not for a single team. Most of the teams, especially India has suffered the most there (in Australia).
Forget about bad umpiring, it's a start of their downfall!

What you are telling us is that general Umpiring standards have gone down...

And considering that today we have Neutral umpires in cricket, this general slide in umpiring has happened to non-Australian umpires..... :)

BTW, Simon Taufel is the most respected umpire, and he hails from Australia..... :)

Absolutely. Australia was a great team but they always got help of umpires. U also right dude saying that England won because of bad umpiring. But that's our point. Australia would not had won and reign the cricket without the help of umpires. India never got the help of umpires to win the series. Ok, one or two decisions would have gone in india's favor. But even on India's soil, decision were always in favor of rival team.

How can you say that England just won because of bad umpiring? If some decissions came in their favour then obviously some decission went against them! Like, Watson was out LBW a couple of times but was not given out.

Bucknor also helped the Aussies come within an inch of winning the Cardiff test, and thrashing England by an innings at Headingley.....

But for you we would have missed these great news items..... :)
