Re: in my opinion only johnson
by Against Pseudos on Aug 25, 2009 12:40 PM
Considering that Siddle is the current leading wicket taker with 40 wickets in last 9 tests (same as Johnson and Swann but with a better average), it completes the pace trio for Australia...... They still have Clark up their sleeve.. as he can be accurate and give crucial performances too.... Lee hasn't played for a while, so we will have to wait and see whether he can come back into the regular rhythm .....
What "rest" are we talking about here?..... :)
AB McDonald? Whose 9 wickets from 4 tests is still better than Panesar's 6 from 4?..... :)
Overall I don't see any reason for panic on the bowling front for Australia right now..... :)
hayden & langer provided good start, warne and mcgrath demolish opposition. even in their presence umpires comes to rescue oz whenever they face tough time. gilchrist behind and infront of stump always upto the expectation. voughn was right when he said only sachin and upto some extend flintoff's presence lift entire team's moral. ponting fails to score runs in oz infront of his own crowd when india last toured oz bhajji and ishant exposed him now every new team trying the same and getting desired result.

;-).... you missed talking about 2006 Ashes recapture... You missed talking about beating South Africa in South Africa.... You missed talking about winning a series in India which Australia managed after 35 years.... :)
But that's okay.... ;-)
We don't expect you to know "everything" after all..... :)

ag psu, u and me can fool each other but we cant run away fr truth. truth is oz batting bowling and feilding lacking killer instict. what they achieve in sa is irrelevant now.try to understand the facts, eng lying bottom of the icc ranking and they defeated oz. u r very emotional about oz.

Thanx for the compliments..... :)
BTW, I am not grieved.... so you can spare the sympathy part.... . :)
You also clearly missed Andrew Strauss's comments on the Australian team, so I am reproducing it for your benefit.....
England captain Andrew Strauss agreed, saying it was hardly a time for Australia to panic. ''The fact that they didn't have the aura is because they have a lot of guys at the start of their career,'' Strauss said.
''If you think about it logically, they're going to get better and better.
''They're probably going to be more determined and hungry to make sure it doesn't happen again. The last thing you'd ever say is that Australian cricket is in a bad place, because it's far from it. They will continue getting better over the coming years.''

;-)..... will doing that change the fact that his record speaks for itself?..... :)
Ponting has been appointed captain for all forms (tests, ODI, T20) of the game till 2011. He will ofcourse continue after (till 2013) than as he says in this report. the australian cricket selection policies have changed. 10 years ago, a performance like would have seen Ponting removed from captaincy, but now with mass exodus, the selectors will not even dream of sacking him. They need Ponting now more than ever, atleast for next 3-4, years, since the side is in transition He is also their best batsman, and you don't sack your best batsman.
ponting is a pretty avearge captain... he has made some huge errors in this series... 1st test - bowling part-timers at panesar and anderson instead of johnson and hilfenhaus 5th test - not picking spinner Hauritz
he should be relieved from captaincy... make Clarke as captain

Ponting will back with bang. He is a great champion of this game. He can not be underestimated at all. Even CA has re-appointed him as a captain since 2011 World Cup. He has lost ony 4 series in his whole the carrier. Otherwise he is the king of cricket

well, this guy is repeating mistakes over and over again... now he has lost so many series in a short span of time.. lost to india in India, lost to South Africa in Australia (tests and ODI), lost in the opening round of t20 WC, lost Ashes...
what else do u need to prove him an impotent captain?

AP, What're you talking about? Did your beloved brother Ponting came and told you when his career were over?...:)
