Australia are close to 300 runs and say have lost only 2 wickets, then we could have a very very interesting and close test match....as i see it now, 466 more runs is still huge mountain to climb and on this wicket, if one wicket falls, another one follows soon.....

So, England are very much the favourites to win the Ashes but Australia can just hope and pray that the first 2 sessions completely go in their favor......

Katich, Watson and Ponting should just play in the straight V and not try and cut and pull on this slow pitch with variable bounce....miracles do happen and miracles only happen to those who believe in them.....All the best to the Aussies...your legendary fighting spirit has now been called into the picture, show the world that you are still the world champions!!

Beautiful atmosphere, people are so supporters are proffesionals.

This is not the case in India.

Britishers did business in India while Indians did politics and tried to settle their own scores with their rivals with the help of British and thats how we slowly came under the Britishers. Thats another view point.

I believe Aus still can win this historical test match
by TapeshParimalTripathi on Aug 23, 2009 11:58 AM  | Hide replies

I believe Aus still can win this historical test match. Watson and Katich have provided a solidd and required stard and we should not forget that aus can do anything any time any place whatsoever.
The Great Ricky Ponting still has to come and Clarke and hussey can do much and north and haddin are capable to make run also.
So anything can be happen.

They can win this one but for that to happen, they need Simon "Slow death" Katich to grind the opposition to dust......simply put, Katich should stick around like fevicol and just not get out...if one end is sealed by Katich, the others could go for the runs and we could have a miracle on our hands!!

Katich is the key cos there is no other batsman who has this infinite capacity to stay at the crease till eternity....

Ausis's Era will not very easily
by TapeshParimalTripathi on Aug 23, 2009 11:14 AM  | Hide replies

First of all happy Ganesh Chaturthi to every one. About Ausis ------
They are not unbeatedn but they are truly champion from every angle. Ausis's Era will not very easily as are guessing. Although their behavior have not been very good, but leave it and see their performance. They are truly world Champion. They never give up and keep fighting. I am not supporter of Ausis but I am supporter of their great game sprit. Look Example:-

1-
England beat Ausis 2-1 in the Ashes of 2005. And than all were saying that it is end of Ausis’s Era. Than next time Ausis wrapped 5-0 to Flintoff’s men at home and made shut mouth of all, who were saying about their end?

2- Ricky Ponting as captain won two successive World Cup for his team 2003 and 2007. But before World Cup of 2007, NZ beat Ausis by 3-0 in New Zealand. Than too all were saying that it is end of Ausis’s Era. And what a fantastic answer given by Ricky and his men to World. That don’t say about our end. We are superpower and we will be superpower of World Cricket.

3- The third and last thing is that they don’t need to prove that they are the best side in the world.

not truly champion side. they no longer are the "truly champions".

over the last year or so, other teams have been beating them with ease. its the respect for the past team that makes you say that they are "truly champions". right now they are a good side, not above it - like they used to be.

Typical Indian reply ... Gloating in the past, great history, da da da.
Wake Up Dude! As "wizardo id" says correctly last 1 year has been terrible for them except for the away SA win after the home SA loss. Everything is below average in that side now. Legends are gone and none currently can write them anymore!

need of the hour Mr. BUCKNOR
by sridhara jayateertha on Aug 23, 2009 11:09 AM  | Hide replies

People are saying that Australia lost major players such as McGrath, Warne, gaily, Hayden, Langer etc. But I feel they never feel missing these players as they feel missing STEVE BUCKNOR. I have reasons to explain.
1. Whenever they won series or any cup they normally had STEVE BUCKNOR.
2. Whenever they don’t have STEVE BUCKNOR, they lose. [ check the records ]
3. STEVE BUCKNOR was not there so SOUT AFRICA won the series in Australia.
4. STEVE BUCKNOR came back to NZ one day series, you people know the result.
5. STEVE BUCKNOR came back in SOUTH AFRICA you know the result.
6. Now STEVE BUCKNOR is not there see the result.
So please bring back STEVE BUCKNOR, and you never dislodge Australia from dominating world cricket.
