woahh - what a lament... you have forgotten the muslim terrorists, specially the marauding kind who plundered India of its riches for a 1000 years, looted the temples and disfigured the sacred statues.. the Aussies may not be terrorists but they are not so nice a people anyway. Coming to cricket and Ponting, Chappel's comments seem to indicate some kind of jealousy of Ponting's achievements. I am not great on stats, but possibly Ponting has the best or one of the best records as captain of Aus. Chappel is simply putting pressure when not needed. Whatever the outcome of this test, Ponting's record will remain as one of the best batsmen as well as skippers.

One point to be noted is that the count down for Pontng started from the day he disrespected Shrad Pawar in Indian soil

after disrespecting Sharad Powar, Ponting won 2006-07 Ashes 5-0 & the 2007 worldcup; so there is no countdown.

;-).... so his recent knock of 150 was a result of his disrespect to Sharad Pawar?....

Curious.... ;-)

Ponting should be sacked.
by gigi jacob on Aug 19, 2009 04:18 PM  | Hide replies

Donno why he's still the captain. He is a regular failure now a days and the team also lost the confidence in him.His discipline inside the ground is below par and he also pressurises umpires to make false decisions. If it was an Indian or Asian player I don't think ICC will allow these.

Really!!! I am not a Ponting fan but watch out jacob, this guy is the nearest to breaking Sachin's records and he is fitter and stronger and is most likely to do so. His recent century was no 30 or so, he is not far behind. You will be forced to revise your views. I think the English are going to get whacked in thsi test anyway and lose the ashes once again..

Who cares your blabbers duddu?

He has won a couple of world cups, almost all championship trophies, been ICC Player of the year quite some time, been a Great Captain, been a Great Test Player with Best Average in the World marching towards Milestone....

Now, is that clear?

BTW, sportsmanship you meant is anything closer to Harbajan Singh or Sreesanth???

Hmmmm..... good to know that.... :)

Your farewell message to Ponting also shows how much you are in awe of Allan Border and take his words as if they are written in stone.... :)

BTW, Border has given his best wishes to Ponting for a series win, so obviously Australia is going to win as a result .... right?... :)

Winning trophies is team's job. YES .. he had a great team.. Lucky chap. (Credit goes to Waugh for building such a team.) The moment he lost Gillespie, McGrath, Warne... his true worth is exposed.
As for Harbhajan.... Auusies board has time again shown who was right... Symmo or Bhajji. Do we need to comment?

Foes that justify unsporting behaviour of Auusies...
You are missing the point.... SPORTAMANSHIP and Aussies have long history on that.. Underarm bowling, Aluminium Bat, Muralidharn's throw calls, Booing of Murali, Ponting claiming grounded catch, Ponting declaring batsman out, Sledging...

Tushar dude, what about slapping your own team mate (bhajji) , involvement in match fixing (azhar & co), un-necessary swearing opponents (Sreesanth) , there was no controversy on aluminium bat (jokers like you thought that) and can we judge what happened on that Symo incident by trusting someone like Bhajji

TS:

;-)..... so when Aussies don't use Aluminium bats, don't bowl underarm, don't claim grounded catches and don't declare batsmen out, they too are very sporting.... right?...

Good .... I liked the sporting Australian side in this Ashes series, and the last Ashes series and the series before that too.... :)

You really put things in the right perspective Tushar...

Thanx.... :)
