Two unrelated incidents but with same destruct-ive fallouts... Sehwag's decision to quit DDCA team and the auto-strike in Delhi. The question that begs an answer is whether Delhi Govt has any grievance mechanism in place at all or do they always get active when things reach a boiling point ? Likewise, if the auto-drivers had some interface body of the Delhi Govt., to seek grievance redressals, the situation could have been pre-emptively alerted. Delhi is the capital of India and how can the admin be so incompetent ?. Both the police and the Army should have been called in, ensured enough taxis and buses were made available at all entry points like Railway Stations, airports and ISBT stands. The police also should have provided adequate protection to the other auto drivers who did not want to join the strike and wanted to serve humanity and reined in the fleecing taxi drivers. When these autos were attacked, there was no policeman in sight, so how do you expect a layman to have any faith in the Govt.'s abilities ? Prima facie, the fault seems to lie with the policemen hout to fleece the auto drivers for non-existent offences. Everyone feels a huge let down by the Sheila Dixit Government. The Transport Minister if he had any sense of commitment should have been at the airport himself (and not in his AC cabin)to see how his counter measures were working. The admin should visit Chennai and other southern capitals to see how competently they handle such strikes.

Yes sir, I totally agree with you. There is no DELHI GOVT.There are corrupt street wise politicians who are ruling Delhi. They dont feel ashamed even after the Media gets the photographs of public sufferings. After watching all this we are still given a doze of PAPUU BAN GAYA whosoever does not vote during elections. Tell me honestly do we deserve these corrupt sumbags.

Just to cite an example of the ineptness of the Delhi Govt. During the strike, Aaj Tak TV channel kept exposing the taxi drivers, including the regn numbers of their vehicles, who kept asking for 4-5 times the normal fare. Why hasn't the Delhi police stepped in, arrested those drivers, cancelled their driving licence and their licen-ce to operate taxis for the next 6 years, as is done in other countries like Singapore etc.? This is the way to administer & not by being the most fault tolerant government.

It is very obvious that there are no standards of excellence in place with Delhi admin. Unless such standards exist, how do you move the workers up from the existing levels of mediocrity. A leader has to provide the vision and leadership and at the same time, has to act proactively to ward off upcoming adversities. From all accounts, it looks like Delhi Govt is teflon coated, immune to any feedback-whether it be Blue Line buses on a killing spree, metro girders falling off and killing people or the common man being fleeced when an auto strike is on. It is on a sheer escapism route. If a Government can not provide comp-etent admin, it has no right to exist in power. Not long ago, a Delhi origin PM almost proved that the country can run on its own without the post of a PM. Something similar is happening now.
Looks like he his hatred for Punjabi is in born. If he has not adjusted with the times, then it is his loss. BTW has he heard of a saying: One should not argue with a fool, people will not know the difference.

INDIA IS PROUD ON ABOVE NAMED CASTES,THEY MADE INDIA.ALL THE PROGRESS MADE IN DELHI,PUNJAB,HARYANA,HIMACHAL AND PARTS OF RAJASTHAN AND UP ARE THE EFFORTS BY THESE ABOVE MENTIONED CASTES.
Sehwag is not going to play a single ranji match and simply wants to blow his trumpet hiding his own flop show in the national side. If he thinks DDCA has corruption then what to call BCCI? When the DDCA can't come to his rescue with the BCCI sidelining him, Sehwag wants to quit DDCA. His other excuses are just lame.
India started to perform well when J.wright(first foreign coach) introduced in indian cricket. Even in Chapell time India won more than 50 percent matches.

Most important option to throw out all Punjabis from DDCA. But that will hurt people like you.

Whats surprising in DDCA corruptin. Delhi is most corrupt big city in india & one of the most corrupt city in world. Majority of people take pride here in show off, Jugad, Breaking rules, poliitics & indisciipline. It is not a professional city like Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, banglore, pune etc.

Ashish Kumar you are either a Bihari who thrives on Cities like Delhi and Mumbai .. See the condition of your Lalooo's Jungle Patna where students keep on burning trains and leaking entrance papers and fake degrees :))

You are absolutely right. The kind of professionalism that one sees in the cities you mentioned is just not there in Delhi. The Common-wealth games is just one more disaster waiting to happen, where after having made all the money on the side, people will make all kinds of excuses for not being able to complete it in time. Competence and profess-ionalism are two words to which Delhi has never been exposed to, given the chalta hai attitude that is with them right from birth. It can show superiority complex only when it is compared against Bihar.

Only y/day, I made a general ob-servation that Commonwealth Games is a disaster waiting to happen, after the "interested" people had made all the money, on the sly. True to style, Sur-esh Kalmadi has already come out in the open today thro' the press to say, the infrastructure will not be completed before the target date. What will happen most probably now is that GOI will eventually ask for a post-ponement which will not be agreed to and the venue risks being shifted to another count-ry. We will eventually have the venue and infrastructure ready but no event and the blame game will start ! It will be true to Delhi's govt.'s execution style of projects. Only E. Sreedharan has been an exception, so far, because he is thorough profess-ional .
