Very recently in IPL wen most of d so called 1 day grts like ganguly n yuvraj wer struggling, dravid again showed wt he is capable of, n wen required he cn even score at a brisk rate, n if even aftr all dis u think dravid is nt suited for 1 dayers den eithr u r biased who has a fixed mindset wch wil neva change or u knw nthn abt criket, its grt 2 c dravid bak in d team
undoutedly he is a batsman of greater charater and having a unique style, no doubt he is a great batsman than sachin and gavaskar of india beacause of him india has won so many matches. really he is a great wall of indian cricket
For the Dravid detractors who think that his strike rate is that of a snail - please reassess your views:
Please check the strike rates of Ganguly to Dravid - it is almost comprable. Factor in the fact that Dravid plays when there is no fielding restrictions and is diffcult to pierce the infield for those easy fours... You basically have to finds gaps and earn your runs.
For those who are goo goo ga ga about Dada's opening skills please compare the Strike rates of the other operning bats (Sehwag, Afridi when he opens, SRT, Gayle, Gibbs, Jayasuriya, Anwar, Glicrist, Hayden...)
The point is that both Ganguly and Dravid (along with SRT, Sehwag and Laxman) are classy players. I feel fortunate that, I have seen these players at their best. I feel that each of these players have their strength and together have brought glories to Indian Cricket (as a team or indivdually). Let strike rates not be the only way to judge a players caliber (even in one dayers...). All of these guys had a role to play and most of the time played it to perfection.
The comparison of Dravid and Ganguly is to only point that let us not undermine the achievement of these two players because of their strike rates.
