Chennai Super Kings jinx continues......
by vathula on Aug 17, 2009 02:53 PM

CSK has the reputation of getting its famous stars retiring/ announcing retirement. The jinx continues.....
Fleming,
then Hayden,
then (it was well almost) Oram (from tests), then Flintoff,
then Murali,
soon it will be Hussey??
and hopefully NOT Dhoni...haha

the law of averages will...
by YoBro on Aug 16, 2009 10:05 PM  | Hide replies

...eventually catch up w/ you. True greatness is measured in sustaining averages over a 20 year period not a one night stand. Besides, having an average of 50 has become a joke nowadays with all the batsmen catered pitches that have sprung up everywhere. So one cannot take very seriously these inflated numbers posted by the likes of Mohd Yousaf, S'kkara, Younis, Hussey and the likes. Personally I rate Clarke much better than Hussey. He's also a more attractive player (graceful in strokeplay). SRT and that generation are anyday better than this crop.

michael hussey
by karam sharma on Aug 16, 2009 07:19 PM  | Hide replies

What goes up must come down. Mark Waugh must remember about his own performance on Sri Lanka tour and Indian tour. Why preach such a thing about Hussey when you yourself battled poor form for long time? Do you remember you and Warne getting fined for passing pitch report? Ex cricketers excercise no constraint in condemning current players without taking in accout their own careers. You might have been a good player not necessarily a great thinker or analyser. Already Hussey was inducted into playing eleven quite late and now we are thinking of finishing career. Does Dino remember what he said of a bearded fielder? Say what you have been asked not what you want to impose on current players.

Michael Hussey follows Michael Bevan
by MGR on Aug 16, 2009 07:04 PM  | Hide replies

Michael Bevan who had very good average vanished.
Similarly Michael Hussey who had good average will vanish soon.
Reason being both entered International Cricket lately in their 30's.

scoring 100 at no.7 is not an easy task. On the other hand Gambhir is opening. So it is not fair to compare Dhoni's score with Gambhir's score.

Dhoni qualifies for the team as the best WK in the country. His batting and captaincy are bonuses.

Dhoni has 50 average in both tests and ODIs in last one year. So obviously the selectors are lenient to him. Also there is no better keeper batsman than him in India. So Dhoni's place is safe as of now.

and why not , look at Dhoni's record as the Indian captain, simply outstanding
besides he has a team with power packed hitters from top to bottom
Dhoni is sitting pretty at the moment

Come outta mental slavery my friend...Why Indian cricketers need to ponder when someone Aussi or any other gora says something..? Dont we have our own brains and thougts to ponder on...??
The same guy. Mark Waugh didnt say the same line when his bro Steve was there in the Aus team...Some ex players loves to be in focus and..Some stupid reporters dotn get hold of current players so they tap these Ex cricketers for their comments...Good readers, need to ignore such bad journlism tactics...rather than draw some "Follow" mentality.....
