laxman
by Abhi s on Aug 15, 2009 04:40 PM  | Hide replies

laxman is only a good test match player
nothing more than that
he does not have leadership qwality
he was borin in odis

but still laxman. just bcoz of few 100s vs AUS is overhyped like anything
he does not have 100s in SA,ENG,NZ
but people overhype him as if he greater than don bradman
people forget that there r other teams alos against which u need to make runs
avg vs SA 37
AVG VS ENG: A POOR 33
AVG VS NZ: 40
AVG VS PAK:38
with 0 100s in ENG,SA,NZ
LAXMAN is just an average player
no need to hype him

u can't measure Laxaman just from average. The pressure & situation he tackle is unbelivle.every good player score run when team perform well. But Great player can give their identity when team struggling.& he done many of most....Every run from his bat, Match Saving or Match Winning. That 's Wy he is called Galactico of Cricket..

Sree always performs but selection is biased in indian team. Sreesanth's aggression and spirit can motivate others as well.

he is victim of politics played by ganguly tendulkar and rahul dravid. other wise he would have scored 10000 runs in both forms of the game

yes, i still remember the australia tour of india one day series which india lost. laxman was on 99,on strike and 46th over was running in progress.he just leaved one of the out going full toss and later after 4 balls he made his single for century.that match india lost in last over with only one ball spare.

You dont remember how many times Ganguly stayed for long to complete century?
How many he sent others ahead when scared to face fast bowlers?

he doesn't market himself properly thts why he is playing county instead being a regular player for India....Laxman is too good for modern cricket, he is modest and soft guy who only let his bat say.

Where as cricketers other trio did fairly well in PR and Marketing dept. When I say marketing its not endorsements....its showing the world time and again that you are capable to play intl cricket...specially showing it to BCCI.....PR with BCCI

please think before you write any crap. Sachin and Dravid are anyday better than Laxman. The stats say for themselves. Laxman is very good but his voerall record is not that good. couple of miraculous innings don't make you a champion,

While your note about Dravid can be agreed, you need to remember that Laxman has saved or won more test matches for India than Sachin. Shows you don't watch cricket.

and countless times Sachin has set us up for victory...its not just about who "saves us from defeat", but about "who sets us up for victory".

True. Was about to say that. Sachin is a great player but not a champion. Hasn't crossed that line consistently enough to be called a champion. Laxman has but he is not as spectacular as sachin. BTW it is just my opinion. No offenses to Sachin fans.

Laxman, like Kumble is a great player and received less than the respect he deserved. But Sachin and Dravid are definitely ahead.
