India Representing Olympic Games
by Guest on Aug 25, 2009 08:20 PM

I am of a strong opinion that india should not participate in next olympic games. Its a shame to the country of getting only 5 medals that too only one gold medal bagged by Abhinav Bindra in recent olympic games. Remember Olympics games are played with all countries across the globe representing their flags.
The Indian Flag Represents Pride for the nation for every sports personnel and sports lover.
Our country hugely populated only bags a few medals looks a sorry plight for the nation. It also speaks of corruption in the country. Remember other countries like US, China, Korea , Russia and so on will analyse these results and feel strongly that India is a corrupt nation in sports ministry.
Its high time the Sports Minister of India should take strong initiatives for preparation of next olympics where our country is participating.
Our Sports ministry can always write a letter to Olympic commitee saying we are not participating this year giving the reason saying "Our sportsmen are not well prepared in this Olympics".
on the concluding part, that is the exact reason our parents always give importance to education system and not sports as a career.
Some steps the sports ministry can take
1.Stadiums & Playing grounds for atheletes
2.Swimming Pools
3.Appoint coaches for indoor and outdoor games
4.Appoint prominent sports personalities
we want india to win not only 5 medals but many many many medals .................
Thank You.

We all want to rid our country of crime. As conscientious citizens, are we willing to report to the police, for instance, our location for 1 hour (in daylight hours) everyday for the next 90 days? And will anyone not found 3 times at those locations be labeled a suspected criminal?
--- Suggestion given by Sh. Rathore. please comply everybody.

Absolutely right. All those geniuses including sportsmen and fitness doctors who wanted our cricketers to be banned if they did not sign the agreement should read this article! We switch off our mobile on sundays and holidays as we do not wish to be disturbed, but act like saints when it comes to advicing others.

good opinion by rathore.
by vinay on Aug 10, 2009 11:02 PM

rathore is very forthright in his opinion. all other athletes hv sacrificed their liberty to play in olympics as they dont hv much choice. bcci or ckt being in driving seat dont ned olympics to suport them. so they can very well dictate the terms with wada which r genuine concerns, supported by other cktrs of ausis also.

why can't india be eliminated from olympics
by Komandur Kannan on Aug 10, 2009 05:36 PM  | Hide replies

forgive my ignorance - If other nations agree to this, why can't they sign it and let cricket in Olympics be played without India. Whilst Indian cricket doesn't require olympics to grow as it has already reached its maddening height in India. However it will do a lot good to cricket as a sport - If Indian players are not willing to play, let them not participate in Olympics. Tomorrow they don't like some other clause for world cup, let them not play world cup too - India will make its own IPL world cup and will run a parallel cricketing world - we the Indians will watch all such matches forgetting about our work duties and ensure BCCI gets further upper hand - If you are sincere about cricket growth in India - STOP WATCHING CRICKET and encourage other deserving sports.

Well said,kannan,
cricket is dying in all other countries other than India according to a statement by Lara recently. But Indians don't have the stamina to play any vigorous, taxing game properly and dedicatedly.Hence we are stuck with the lazy game called cricket.

dear ajai
do u give any thought that a sports cant be forced on anybody. base ball is populer only in USA they still like it, in the similar way i love cricket and dont bother what other people feel about it. to be frank i give it a damn that how much a man can trrow a disk ot can jump over a rod using a pole for me all of them are as foolish as cricket is for those who love olympics, i dont critisize them for loveing olympic sports why they should decide what i like or what i dont.
as far as this WADA issue is concern to be frank i feel its impossible for normal humans to specify thier exact location for the next 90 days may be so called great sports person who dont do anything but train between olympics may give their address (thier training center what else) but for normal people when they are not playing its tough isnt it what if say sachins doughter ask him to take her to lonawala because its raining today and she want to go there? would u say that sachin have missed test to hide something? i tell u what if drugs are so fast moving that u have to catch someone within 1 day of taking the drug to proove he is a cheat probably that gdrug is not going to help that person a month later in the match, and if its related to recovery i guess wada should comeup with better test which can detect these drugs for longer periods.
i dont like the bullyness of BCCI but for once they and indian cricketers are correct. as far as opinion of our sports minister, its pure envy and ignorane

Stupid Comment boss. We like Cricket because of the Passion. They started winning WC and some important matches we fans wanted to win .. thats the reason cricket is our religion. Let other sports person show so much passion and let them win matches we, fans wanted them to win .. there will be followers ... u cant get followers for a game just by saying follow that game .... we should like it first ... make us a fan of that sport and play it passionately ... there will be fans ....

can our basket ball / Volleyball/Table Tennis team compete against US college team??? No
Are Peas and Bhupathi united????? See Serena and Venus .....
We want Indian Hockey team to beat Aus .. can that happen????

Dont be jealous of cricket ... though cricket has some bad ruling ... Our Cricketers have made us forget our personal problems and gave us joy lot many times that any other sport in India

exactly what i wanted to say.
i respect indivisual athelete but just cant spend time watching some one jump around a matt and win gold and called great may be it takes a lot of hardwork but not my cup of tea i wont watch it dont force me period. u dont like cricket dont watch it period but if some one like sania mirza or milkha singh cry foul that they dont get fans its sour grapes they are not world class and not worth it. we had dhayanchand and there were fans of him, play good and people will fallow fans come from greatness not by bagging

Very true soni. The other thing which we keep hearing from other sportsmen that the media and people do not support them. They conveniently forget that no one would follow a sport unless there are grt players in it who perform and win consistently. That is what attracts people in the first place. People start watching the game more and more and with that media attention follows. It is a chain reaction. How many of our other sportsmen specially those from football, hockey, tennis has performed consistently well in the last 20 years. They need to pull up their socks and start performing consistently before they epect the people's support.

mr i personally think u r frustrated person, why v should stop watching cricket if these r the only people who haVE the guts to stand for whats wrong, secondly there is no harm watching other sports if they win like cricketrs do on regular basis,as for bcci atleast they have the guts to stand for their players, not like any other associations who do nothing to promote either the game or players interests, the only shortcut every other sports person know in india to hide their failures is blame every thing on cricket and escape, wht a shame ,for example every sports person gets same diet and facilities in sports hostels, but cricketrs execl in same conditions and other cry about the same, did any of the cricketr came to u asking u to watch their match,no,the only reason you or anyone watches their performance is they win in any place any condition.so in counbtry full of faliure atleast some is doing country pride,so lets stand with them, not against them.or i should take it that way u can not digest someone who has the guts to stand for himself.

other cricketing nations agreed to the clause but with the utmost reluctance because the icc signed a pact with wada. they do not command the clout that bcci does. so bcci would be doing a favour to others if it takes up the issue. the fact that so many players all across the world including federer, nadal have problems with the clause, it means there is something wrong with the system. they signed cos they did not hav the choice. we shud oppose cos we r not a olympic nation n we hav a choice. we shud realise that cricket is a completely different sport frm others n we need a cricket specific solution. n the security n privacy issue of ppl like sachin is very genuine. so hats off to bcci

Has ANYBODY checked how many players are not competing their respective sports due to ban by WADA in this clause? Whay ICC should sign a contract with WADA without taking concent of players association and respective boars (sorry Boards?)?FIFA is a foollish orgy to sign such contract. We believe that sports has to be DOPE FREE. But not at the cost of FRRDOM of a person. I feel even a SURGERY/ BODYSUITES/SPORT EQUIPMENT etc are engineered then why not HUMAN BODY????????
