You all hired by BCCI and you are employee of the BCCI playing for the country. You are bound to give your whereabouts like any co employees, any other indian athletes, olympic players and any other world players. You guys even shown your arrogance when country highest sports honour was given you all just snubbed and did not bother to respect the honor. YOU THREE GUYS IE HARBAJAN, YOURAJ, DHONI NEED TO BE AXED FROM INDIAN SQUAD. WE LOVE PLAYERS WHO ARE SELFLESS AND PLAY FOR COUNTRY, NOT FOR SELF. BCCI AND SRIKANTH PLEASE TAKE A NOTE AND ACTION ON THESE PLAYERS.
I have very little idea about any drugs that are marketed which can increase the repertoire of shots a batsman possess or induce more variety to a bowler’s armory. Well u can argue it can increase the speed with which a bowler bowls. But for that I feel a routine drug test before or after the events is enough. I again say to you that WADA code is simply draconian.

I agree with you. Most drugs that are useful in cricket are basically to dull the senses so one can overcome nerves while batting. But then that is not out of competition. WADA rules are pathetic. and for cricket it hardly makes sense when the off season is hardly existant.

mr. sumit paul i don't thik that this is a simply draconian, if they can boul faster with the help of it that might be sure that they will use in future for other works and it might be possible that they will use this for their enjoyment.
Yuvi and other Indian cricketers are not against dope tests. Infact, they are routinely tested when on tour. I hope u remember Shahid Afridi was tested just after the T20 final. So testing isn’t new to cricket. The issue is different. I am very romantic about cricket and a die hard test match fan. .I often enjoy test matches with a peg or two of whisky and puffs of marijuana. I mean to say to you that these guys are mortal and how they spend their leisure time at home or anywhere shouldn't raise anybodies eyebrows. So what if a cricketer lazes around with puffs of marijuana when not on tour. The WADA is nobody to judge how a cricketer should spend his personal time. I think BCCI is absolutely right by supporting the cricketers. Moreover, cricket unlike other personal events is played for a longer duration. The shortest version of the game takes twice the time taken to play a football match. In athletic events like swimming, running where the game spans a mere few seconds it is more probable the outcome of a game can be ruled by consuming performance enhancing drugs. Another important perspective which you should consider is running or swimming or even cycling involves similar body movements throughout the entire span of events But in cricket sometimes u run at others u jump to hold a catch. Even when a batsman bats he puts forward a repertoire of shots that involves different body movements. I have very little idea about any drugs that are marketed which can i
ICC should allow Yuvraj to play match without actually coming to ground ie a kind of virtual player. Also all innings of Yuvraj should be considered a century whether he makes the run or not.ICC should take this matter immediately and no more inconvenience to Yuvraj
This seems our players are taking illegal drugs and fearing the test. BCCI is showing their money power. Ban all the cricketers who are not willing to sign the contract. Then they have all their freedom and privacy and they can go anywhere.
Yuvraj is just an arrogant overrated cricketer. He is a good T20 and ODI player but an extremely mediocre Test cricketer. he is nowehere in caprison to his contempararies in World Cricket like Jayawardene, Sangakara , Pieterson , Greame Smith etc. When FIFA players can comply with WADA why can't the cricketers. I am sure great players like Sachin , Dravid , Laxman & Sehwag will not have a problem. It is only the overrated Mediocre players like Dhoni and Yuvraj and creatures like Harbhajan who will have a Problem.

Abhijit!!For your info I have played a bit of cricket. But I am not claiming to be a good player. It is my point of view why don't you defend youvraj with logic if you can. I have said that he is a good T20 and ODI player. But the other things I have said are also true. Yes he is a mediocre test player. he has a poor technique & a poor temparament. He struggles against the swinging and spinning ball.He is also an arrogant person which is there for everyone to see.

you fool yuvraj is the best player fast(swing & seam bowling) proved by greats of the game........
Re: Re: Re: Re: Yuvraj should be axed!!
by suryanarayan bhaskar on Aug 06, 2009 01:38 PM
He is a good player in ODIs when the ball is old and flat and hard wickets. He is good against fast bowling on Hard tracks, But when the ball starts swinging he is weak out side the off stump. he is a poor player of spin. Look at his record in Test cricket. He has failed in West Indies , Australia and New zealand.Though Hid score a century when the ball was swinging in Pak.Ultimately greatness will always be judjed by performance in Test Cricket.

Abhijit if your logic is accepted you can't comment about a rotten egg, because you have never laid an egg.

for your kind information fifa haven't sign this contract yet they have take two year time to think on it....... if yoy dont know the fact don't try to wright any thing without knowing any fact.......

Yes WADA is just in the pipe line. FIFA has asked for a 2 year time period for easing in WADA into the game and not to think about it.FIFA has not rejected WADA. You get your facts right. But whatever you say 28 Test matched and an average of 34 for a pure batsman and failures outside the subcontinent shows mediocrty.
I feel there is no point in intimidating a cricketer for dope test when he returns to the cosiness of the home only for some days.Cricket is quite different than all other sports.May be the introduction of one day or recent inclusion of t20 format puts huge pressure to perform.THis makes it possible for players to go for performance enhancing drugs. But indian cricketers are ready for in-competition dope testing. The out of tour dope testing is rubbish .Its draconian. It intrudes privacy. As a young scientist I see nothing wrong in enjoying puffs of marijuana in my spare time at home.
So we can safely say we have created monster in our cricketers. Our cricket team only travel and othercricketing countiries. Yuvi think twice before you spk. What security threat u guys have. Roger or Tiger or Beckham will not have secutirty concern from talibans or any fanatic. Are you guys taking performance enhancing drugs, then why worried. you guys are icons, you should set example.

it is simple, raja. you will understand what yuvi is saying once your privacy is taken off. let the testing be done during tours and during camps. during the little time they get with their families, let them enjoy family relationships.

I dont think you even understand the security threats that cricketers in india get. Even the intelligence agencies have come up with alerts on players being targeted. If you are challenging these threats as nonsense then take it up with IB and not the cricketers.
