csk team doesnot deserve to be in semis
by raja raja on Apr 28, 2009 03:48 AM  | Hide replies

I am convinced that CSK in its current form, does not deserve to be in semis. the main reason is the local players does not look lik the ones who can win matches. Its only Balaji and Badri. Even if we are unable to make it to the semis, thats fine, atleast give more chances to all the players from Tamilnadu,Win or lose, lets face it of our own, than being defeated by having morkel or flintoff or joginder or Parthiv ,.. - a CSK fan

Raja, maily no swing bowlers. Also the opening bowlers are inexperienced on how to bowl in SA. So this year not sure unless these guys figure out their bowling dept.

Dhoni underperformer this tournament; big disappointment. Other captains are knocking; but still this captain needs a knock to win matches for his club.

Balaji
by Venkat Pathi on Apr 27, 2009 11:01 PM  | Hide replies

this is not the first time Balaji bowls the last over when the oppenent needs 6-7 runs in the last over...

everytime he bowls slow balls and gave ways sixes..
1)In Australia bret lee hit one in the last ball to win the matcg
2)Last IPL he conceded 11 runs the last over including a 5 wides.

See Kamran khan who is very very inexperience able to contain the batsment in the lastover giving a tie..

Balaji never tried to bowl in the block hole ,rather bowling juicy slow balls..

dhonis captaincy is awfull in the last three matches.he is numb and does not know the actual strength of the team.why he is using parthiv instead of vidhy7ut who proved his mettle in last ipl 2008.joginder sharma is not a proper batsman or a bowler.he could have been replaced with nitni who can be aggressive and knows southafrican pitches well. dhoni is proving he is a dhadhi and cannot formulate even an simple strategy in t20.

Dude CSK is not losing bcz of batting!. What is vidyut going to do ?. Their bowling sucks. They don't have a genuine fast or swing bowler. Ntini should be tried now. Iam sure there are reasons we dont know about. You just picked another reason to blame dhoni. His analysis was right even when they won the second match. He said CSK's bowling and fielding needs work and it is proving to be true. Let them figure it out if they want to win.

i agree that , Dhoni is awfull...Badri is not someone who can come and slog immediately..he always comes after 15 overs score 8 balls 8 runs and gets out..

Dhoni backing Prathiv patel ahed of Vijay/Vidyut..Patel can keep wickets sharing Dhoni's workload which is bullshit. He can try Gony as a opener or pinch hitter.

Gony bowling is very poor ,Nitni should come in for him..

Hayden,Vijay/Vidyut,Badri,Raina,Dhoni,Morkel should be the batsmen..

Murali and Ashwin should play..all the top class spinner has performed well so far..Vidayut is also a part time bowler...

i feel like ICL is right thing for local palyers to show their potential not IPL.

IPL has many stars which going to reduce the confidence of the emerging players..Apart from Ohja,Kamran,RP singh i don't see any good shows from local players..either they never make the 11 nor put good show

great display of batting second
by madhu on Apr 27, 2009 10:36 PM

Deccan charges played extra ordinary to win the match against Chennai Super kings, they went to batting with proper planning they never come under pressure through out the innings gilly and gibbs guided very well, they bowled well and batted well.they are improving day by day and should win this year IPL edition.

Woeful bowling strength of CSK responsible for defeats
by mike mike on Apr 27, 2009 10:13 PM  | Hide replies

CSK bowling strength is the most depleted n reason for defeat

Their batting appears ok and by hit-or-miss they r able to

compile par score of 160 plus in all matches.

Local ind bowlers r woeful, n foreign buys r even more pathetic.

Much had been expected of murali, but he has been below avg.

I wil blame the CSK mgmt for this.

7 ind players wil play every match, so the mgmt shd hav scouted for n got

good local talent in the period between IPL1 and IPL2.

All other teams hav got in reasonable local players --- like Harmeet singh,

Kamran khan, Shoaib ahmed, etc.

bye bye CSK , see u in IPL3 !!

I think this is bcz the team was selected with Indian conditions in mind. Instead they are playing in SA. It is too late to adapt unless these fellows start bowling yorkers like there is no tomorrow. They are not gonna pick up swing. Look at RPO singh, he was a dud in india, but in swinging conditions, he can get wickets easily. It is just plans gone awry due to the shift of IPL.

Complete revamp of csk squad needed if they hav to win any match
by mike mike on Apr 27, 2009 10:09 PM  | Hide replies

Batting is ok, they r somehow able to get par score of 160 plus.

Bowling is pathetic n woeful !!!!

Remove Albie n replace with Makhaya Ntini, his pace is needed.

Why 6 bowlers needed ? Wat is Joginder doin as 6th bowler when he is

not gettin to bowl full quota of 4 ovrs - replace with batsman M Vijay, who can

open with Haydos. Parthiv can still retain place as batsman and come in middle order.

Badrinath is strugglin -- faced 7 deliveries in last 2 ovrs and scored just 2 runs--

replace with Vidyut.

Ind bowlers-- Gony n Balaji r both waste - can replace one with spinner Ashvin.

FINAL ELEVEN

Haydos, M Vijay, Raina, Dhoni, Vidyut, Parthiv,

Oram, Gony/Balaji , Ashvin, Murali, Makhaya Ntini.

I understan tail wil b longer, but thats the only way they can win.

Please comment ...

Aussie show
by selmeen kumar on Apr 27, 2009 10:09 PM

Only Aussies are running the IPL show. It's more appropriate if it's Aus Premier League(APL). This year it's boring without Shaun Marsh, Symonds, Hussey, Watson, Brett Lee, David Hussey...Other than Aussies few guys like Pathan, Gibbs, De Villiers are playing..
