Indians are not crazy abt soccer so EPL. Most of the visitors of rediff are indians and no body cares what happends in epl.

It will be waste of space to post that news.

Offcourse thr are some fans from kolkata who like soccer but it is very small segment of audiens..

Musings

How should one describe the legendary Indian cricketer of yore, Mr. Sunil Gavaskar?

Let us recollect some of his suggestive questions after Mumbai Indians lost to Deccan Chargers yesterday.

1. While talking to Dwayne Smith, Sunny asked whether Smith passed on tips to DC about Mumbai Indian players, having played for MI in IPL last year.

2. While interviewing Sachin, Sunny asked whether the strategy break undid MI by losing momentum, since MI were comfortably placed at the break.

3. Sunny again asked Sachin whether lack of match practice (their second match against RR having been washed off) affected MI's performance in yesterday's match.

Sachin was atleast less aplogetic, saying that although these were factors, there is no excuse and they would like to do well in the remaining matches. It was a pleasant surprise, different from the outburst he made after losing a crucial match last year (when there were many fumbles by his team including in the last over by Dilhara Fernando) - Sachin blaming lack of common sense (obviously referrring to his team mates).

One only wonders if Sunny will pose such suggestive questions to other losing captains also.

Obviously, not. He is one crappy commentator. He always talks one-sided. For example, yesterday he talked as if the time outs effected Mumbai only. Deccan too struggled after the time out when they were batting. Anyway, it is good to abserve people when they are successful or when they are not successful. It helps us peek into their true character.

What if Gayle and Mccullum gone early? How can Ganguly bat with the very unreliable middle order? It gives extra pressure on Ganguly. That means there are always chances of him getting out too. The end result would be Kolkata making a maximum of 100 to 120 runs. And there are no great bowlers in the team to defend it. Very Very bas=d on the team selection.

Totally blind,
by Mangesh Vedpathak on Apr 26, 2009 12:21 AM  | Hide replies

After my interaction with hundreds of people who give their best shot while criticizing/praising/commenting about cricket and cricketers, I must say that: 80% of these people have either:
1. Never never played cricket.
2. Played only gully cricket and not real cricket.
3. Have never seen a leather ball or having seen one, never held it in their hand.
4. Never held a real cricket bat in their hands.
5. Never seen a real live game even to get a feel of it.

Mind well there are 80 % such people or even more. And they pass on all sorts of comments about cricket and cricketers !!! Its absoloutely ridiculous !!! Its like a person who has never seen a real car, leave alone driving it, but having seen it only on television and comments about petrol and diesel engines, horse power, mileage , quality etc etc. The worth of their comments is nothing more than a blind man trying to make comments about cricket.

And your big discourse out here is not worth two pences cos you have not backed your allegations with hard concrete facts.......how do you know that 80% people who comment have never played cricket or only have limited exposure??

It is an airy fairy statement and it is an absolutely ridiculous one at that!!

The worth of your header message is that of a deaf person commenting about the quality of a song.......

80% ..
the fact that u cant prove what you said above.. leads u to the below comments ..
Simple .. unless u don't have some concrete proof.. dont declare something .. atleast say "most of" or "good number of"... PUT NUMBERS IF U R SURE OF THEM...

and now some one comes and ask you about 80% .. they have every right to ask .. :P

PS:1. Now dont defend that I am one those having 5 qualities.. I myself agree.. I am only talking about quoting numbers without having proof..
2. Show some kindness :)

Kid, I am 1000 % sure u r one of those 20% uber-rich kid who's born with a leather ball in one hand and a real(???)Cricket bat in other hand…and of course a born statistician... If you want to criticize something, then bring meaningful arguments with respect. And that’s all you need. We can have different opinions and nevertheless we should be cool and respectful with each other. ...to criticize cricket players, you don’t need to a cricket player; you don’t need to touch cricket ball and bat, if you are a true cricket fan than that’s enough. By the way have you ever scored 80% marks in your any exam in your life, because I have just learned from my teacher only 20% people do so? And please stop throwing bullshit data, nobody need that. Enjoy IPL kid.

And don’t tell me that you are a 35 year old bored man or 53 year old frustrated man coz it will hurt me.

Subbaiah..Every team has it's own strategies...once they are thru to semis then they can give chance to other players...I understand the main motto of IPL is to give local players international exposure...which they might be getting thru conversations...ITS MAGIC--Give suggestions but not orders..Mind U r language before uttering nonsense...Take car...It's a concern for subbaiah but not to say anything against north/south...Beware it's OUR INDIA...
