its wonderful that the IPL has moved to SA.the MEDIA CIRCUS in India cannot digest the fact that they cannot spread false stories and create controversies over minor issues At least Modi can sleep well without having to worry about trivial issues which upset players and team owners. The people in SA enjoy all sport and don't have time to waste on posting nonsense on blogs the mischief makers are definately from India go SA!!!!!!!!!
The Govt of India/States and the IPL should have resolved all the issues and hosted the tournament in India, with the present status of economy it would have helped the Travel/Hotel/Transport/Entertainment/finance industry to improve to a great extent. But this is India every dic has his own self intrest over the counrty (Using the country resources) and mountain size egos and party politics. God only knwos when will WE RISE above all, DOUBT.

This is high time, cricket must be banned in India. Lot of money is either wasted or put on stack on gambling as well as numerous man hours are lost which could have been utilised for productive work.

Great that IPL is shifted out of India.Who want this type of Tamasha Pyjama cricket at the time Elections.India is getting respected before the world nations for conducting such a huge election not for conducting the this type of Pyjama Cricket.Cricket is played only 10 nations.

10 nations? does that include Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Kenya, UAE? And in England, Newzealand and SouthAfrica, traditional Cricket (test and one-day) dont even evoke as much passion and support as Soccer, Rugby or Lawn Tennis. Maybe, 20-20 can change all that and bring in more nations into its fold.
I wish sincerely that NDA comes to power at the centre next month and Lalit Modi is made Cabinet Minister for sports and youth affairs.
I do not much about him. I didn't care much about him after he became a vice president of BCCI. I didn't care a bit when he became IPL commissioner and held the IPL-2008 successfully in India.
I sat up and noticed him when problem after problem clouded the conduct of IPL-2009. I started appreciating his ability to find solutions, think out of the box and dare the situations and circumstances to hold the IPL-2009 abroad.
I have now started admiring him for being someone in the mould of T N Seshan. We need more such people, who can think, who can outthink, who can be resourceful, who can question, who can find answers.
We don't need people who tamely crow that elections are more important. We don't need pessimists who cry that if there are incidents in IPL, it will have an adverse effect on the country holding Common Wealth games.

I have dealth with Lalit Modi personally once and let me tell you he doesn't know the word 'impossible' and can really think out of the box. He is very aggressive sometimes to the point of rudeness but knows exactly how to get things done. If we had a few more people like him it would help generate a lot of jobs and money for India. Many do critise him saying pajama cricket etc. We should be proud to see so many foreigners coming out to see a match of Chennai v/s Rajasthan!! It is good to see that India is dominating the world and writing the rules rather than following what others say. It gives us economic and social power and more importantly respect by the world community

You are right. Just think, this mana manged to pull off a tournmant of this magnitude against all odds, adversities. When everybody was like why it shouldn,t be done, where it shouldn,t be done etc. he found a way to do it. Love it or hate it, we need people like this who can do and make things happen

Re: The FAKE player is Saurav!!!
by Orient Mystique on Apr 23, 2009 01:12 PM
The fake player cannot be Sourav.
Another report in Rediff claims that the fake player makes a scathing remark about a former captain (obvious reference to Sourav) who is the slowest in the field, making big lectures in team meetings about the need for agility on the field. The fake player also claims that he is never a member of the playing XI and carries drinks.
Sourav may not be a gentleman, might have been arrogant, might have had problems with others but he is not a coward.
He doesn't have to hide behind a blog spot to vent his views. He had the guts to say everything plainly in his interview to Arnab Goswami in Times Now, the other day.
