ICL deoesn't need ICC-BCCI's permission
by Bodh Ramdeo on Apr 24, 2009 06:19 AM  | Hide replies

ICC does not own cricket! BCCI does not own cricket! The Indian federal govt doesn not own cricket! The state govts do not own cricket!
Who the heck is ICC or BCCI or dung-eating Pawar to dictate to ICL whether they can hold cricket tournaments or not.
Were it not for ICL, there'd be no IPL- it's all the dung-dwelling Pawar's over-blown ego- his greed for endless power and titles, only- that's what this is all about- Pawar's power trip. Never mind millions in his state are starving to death, farmers are committing suicide by the thousands- this Fedaeral Agri Minister have time only for being the boss of cricket. What a veritable diphead

the moderator's sense of direction is not in order. Even simple replies are greeted with 'it is under moderator's review'. Whoever you are, learn english properly

ICL gave birth to IPL...BCCI should thank ICL instead of slapping a ban....

Why ICL is seeking recognition from BCCI and ICC. Nobody can stop them but can they survive they r already finished . BCCI has never banned players from ICL only they r saying all players have to play in state league and get selected but players can not keep legs in both boat

BCCI, a private body monopolizes Indian cricket without paying
by R on Apr 24, 2009 06:01 AM  | Hide replies

BCCI is a private body. It should be asked to pay royalty to India whenever they use its name when playing test matches or 1-day international. Otherwise, they should just use BCCI name. Just like parking lots are auctioned, the India name should also be auctioned and people like Reliance, Tata, ICL should be allowed to bid. Who so ever wins should be given the rights to send the Indian team for the matches. By using Indian name, BCCI has become richest sports body in the country. This money comes from the people and cannot be monopolized by a private body.

You are a sick. If your logic is applied, each international cricket team government body will see the success in terms of wealth and become richer as they are using their country name too though being the private body!

Dear Sreeman,

I think you are sick. The guy R is quite open minded. Private companies pay huge tax and other necessary fundings. Please let us know what is BCCI's contribution?

BCCI shows dirty face of India.

It is our national shame. India is known for its equal treatment. What is this?

If this tournament works then there shall be a mad rush by BCCI, ECB, ACB to organise a tournament in Amrica. Hope this doesnt follow the the ICL path.
