whatever asians do nobody cares. there are many extraordinary people (including sachin) exist in this continent but nobody writes for them. till we stop listening and copying westerners we should consider ourselves small though how great you are.

I am shocked and surprised, how the people of India are reacting. I am happy for Lara that he got this honor, and he deserves it too! Besides, if Lara has fans in India, whats the big deal?! It is positive! Of course, I do not want to take away anything from the INDIAN team or from Tendulkar! I just want to express that to appreciate another country does not mean, by default, the lack of appreciation for one's own country! Every player, and every country has its own charm! I respect Lara for his cricketing, and I also acknowledge that even the Great Tendulkar has not broken Lara's record of 401 runs in international test cricket in ONE INNING! 501 runs in domestic cricket too! As far as, one of you, commented on "foreigners as GODS" and "decedents of slaves", trust me, you need your narrow thinking sorted in life! Lara IS one and only, as Priyadarshan notes, and he is arguably the best too! To acknowledge that or feel that does NOT show the lack of patriotism, but in fact shows how responsible and matured these people are at a time of globalization and a neo-liberal global paradigm. Forrest Gump below thinks that being black is being a loser, no offence, but Forrest Gump himself is a loser to neglect the great people like Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela, who WERE INSPIRED by MK Gandhi, which I am utterly proud of! Though these "blacks" as you say have imitated Gandhi like NO INDIAN has done after that, ever! Instead, we have racists and nationalists, unfortunate!

Dear Harsh....I hope you know there are some ppl on this forum they are not from Ind but neighbouring all nations and they pose as Indians with fake Indian IDs....Having said that i m not saying every Indian on this forum is a great global citizen or nettizen. I do understand your pain and i m sorry it troubled your heart. Hope we have better posts in future...Its such a thin line between fans and fanatics....and its very easy to get provoked. sometimes its just fight between gosip belivers and truth seekers..Lara,Sachin , Obama Dr.King, Gandhi..we all love them as human for sure. We all appreciate their respective contribution to society in their own way. But we all as ppl do love controvercies at times dont we...?? Lara is no match for Sachin. Sachin has better longevity and is now winning matches for his team whereas Lara gave up and retired...Sachin also has million times better attitude than arrogant Lara.
