The Snub of Padmashree Award by the Cricket players should be viewed seriously ,particularly when there are so many Games & Sports like Carrom,Chess,Badminton ets to name a few who bring glory to the nation and needs encluragement and media attention & coverage.

Carrom, Chess, Badminton- these are "sports"? Rugby, soccer, basketball, tennis or track and field- even volleyball- now-ah thats-ah sports-ah.
The disregard of the Padmashree award should be taken seriously by the sports ministry particularly when other games or sports like Carrom, Chess,Badminton etc bringing glory to the nation needs encluragement and media coverage.
NO DOUBTS - DHONI AND HARBHAJAN BOTH ARE ARROGANTS AND DO NOT DESRVE A POSITION IN CRICKET FOR HAVING IGNORED NATIONS PRESTIGEOUS AWARDS. THEY GORGOT TO UNDERSTAND THEY ARE PLAYING FOR COUNTRY

In movies, we enjoy hero kicking the villain, all disshuum disshuum. Becasue in real life, we also want to hit the villains around us. But we are common people. We can NOT do that. But when a hero does that in a movie, we appreciate it. Now Dhoni and Harbajan has done IT, what we wanted to do. We do not like Pratiba to sit in our country' president post. We want a better candidate. No ONE likes her in that post.

You are 100% right. But it is better kept quite than said out as position of Prisdent is talked about.
In any case, Padma Awards have been devalued considerably. Popular belief is that a number of Padma Awards have been decided on political considerations.
The cricketers are always chased upon for these useless awards. Why would they care; A cricket player at Dhoni's level has enough to live happily for the next 2 or 3 generations; Having this stupid title will add zero value to their fame and they will never be recognized by these award names; rather by their superior deeds on the cricket ground.
