No true. But Pramod Mahajan had tried to mis-behave to Tamil actress Soundarya, and when she refused, he killed her.

NOT FAIR
by Rudran on Apr 21, 2009 08:07 PM  | Hide replies

IPL has started, and I guess the players had to report in SA atleast 2 days before IPL begins. So it cud've been tough for those 2 guys to be in India.
The award was given for their achievements in all these years. Its not fair to withdraw the award for trivial reasons. Moreover Dhoni and Harbhajan are not the kind of people who are casual about Padma Awards...they know their duties and responsibilities.
I guess whats really bothering you jealous people is that they are getting paid in millions of dollars while you sit in your office desk earning peanuts.

Yes I agree that we should ask Taliban or some one to run the Sports ministry and probably call for a fatwa against those people who disobey the minister's order.

Historical India
by neutral c on Apr 21, 2009 07:47 PM  | Hide replies

Some are talking about present India.
But this is the same India which has given the Rishis, Upanishads, Vedas, Aryabhattas, Swami Vivekananda, Buddha, Sankara. Have we forgotten them ? Have we forgotten the values our scriptures taught ? Remember it is bcos of the values all religion are peacefully existing in this country. BJP is only trying to revive those values.

ya dirty converts and born to converts like you wont understand the significance about the religion. Leaving one's religion for bread and milk is like prostituting oneself. You wont support BJP because you are a fanatic and dogmatic, under the influence of a man made religion. Its a pity that man made religions are trying to destroy themselves. Hinduism is not manmade and it is a way of living. Time will tell which will survive.

I agree to Raj...Cricket is lazy man's game..
by Guest on Apr 21, 2009 07:45 PM  | Hide replies

I agree 100% to Raj...Lot of jobless youth are watching cricket in India as if they are achieving something..instead those players are earning huge money..Its not worth giving awards to cricket players since they do not bother about the awards given by govt..
"Mostly the poor, lazy, incompetent people enjoy cricket". This is perfect quote which I also say to some people who spend(waste) lot of time in watching, eating, drinking cricket. I also say that nowadys Cricket is not a sport..Its a business...

snub Padma awards
by partha sarathy on Apr 21, 2009 07:45 PM  | Hide replies

Who bothers your awards which are mostly given by canvassing?Only few people get it on merit.Instead of providing awards after a person become successful on his own,it is better the govt dismantle all the sports associations and appoint persons with integrity, honsesty and patriotic. The fate of good sportsman other than cricket is in peril.Instead of awards, let the govt really try to produce talents in this country.

Worse, at times they are given to erect a Stooge !!
