If Sachin cannot play well even after played for so many years, who else can play ? Can we expect an youngster to play well all the time? A Youngster to become a future Sachin,Sachin should become silent in airing statements also should give away his place to a youngster who can experience himself to become a future bright star as every Indian will agree that cricket never ends with Sachin's calibre only but many many Indian who give birth will have a chance to play and will become a winner for himself and for INDIA. Any comments please ?

If a guy play for 18 years he bound to make records, i agree he kept himself fit to play those 17yrs,but imagine how much twos he might have taken in place of three's. Check guys like kallis, playing at no3 or no4 scored arnd 10k runs in lesser no of matches and also 300 wkts i guess in both of the games..

all shud keep playing at their level friends... IPL and other tournaments have given chance to many. Sachin is obviously gifted by God. Sachin is not spotting all eleven seats. Many have come and gone. Those who are consistent remained for more time. Sachin is just best of all that made him stay there so long and thats the only reason why he is still there

man he is not running a charity to give away something. If any youngster in this country is good enough to earn sachin's place so be it, but as of now no one is good enough, and pls don't come up with names like rohit sharma, suresh raina. These guys are good but are they anywhere near sachin.

wasim jaffer is better batsman than sachin. sachin plays well only against weak teams. he should be made ball boy right Umanath Parulekar ?
Sachin,u got no individuality, whatever Bhajji says u just repeat it...yea u play to not prove anything at all, what about proving us u can play at number 4 or number 5 and score 100s or play match winning innings,u have never done that before....

Please dont involve religion with game. I hv lot of hindu friends than ours. we are living like brothers together my dear mitho. I love india and all indians. I just curioused about my passion of the game.
Watching cricket through the 90's when indian cricket was a one man army, i always felt that tendulkar was better off playing for another team becoz no matter what he did india would lose becoz he played in such a pathetic team, even more ridiculous is the fact that he had to apparently carry the burden of an entire nation of crazy supporters(real crazy morons going by the sheer ridiculous posts that abuse sachin here), who were always ahort of praise when he played well, but were the first ones to snipe when he didn't play well. I'am not an indian and the kind of respect sachin desrves here in australia has to be seen to be believed. In 2008 series there was a bigger cheer when sachin came out to bat than for any aussie player. People outside think that sachin has a god like status in india but i actually think that india doesn't respect sachin even after he has done so many great things. I tell my aussie friends that it was a great sin for the sportsman of sachin's caliber to be born in india.

Though I can understand the pain in your thoughts I don't agree that Indian doesn't respect Sachin. Do not go by few idiots writing some crap about him. There are millions who love him and if you carefully analyze the reson behind the foolish comments are mainly due to jelous. So just ignore it as you are talking to losers if you want to convince them Sachin is god of cricket and will remain at that stature for ever.

Varun... indeed what you say is true. I grew up watching n playing Cricket. and it was a treat to watch Sachin grow up as a cricketer too. I am a die hard fan of him. Indeed whenever he goes out to bat, people expect him to score hundreds and win matches for the team, which he has done time n again. but many a times his contribution towards the team is questioned, tagging him as selfish n record breaker. People who didn't even know much about the game start criticizing him. ALl around the cricketing world Sachin enjoys a status which no other cricketer enjoys. Is there any one cricketer who enjoys a standing ovation all around the world even if he is playing against the home team ? Hi is kind of a guy who thinks only about the game. His dedication and enthusiasm is truly remarkable. I SALUTE this GOD og INDAIN Cricket. Just hope people stop talking bad about him and his number of match winning innings and let him enjoy playing cricket and let his fans all over the world watch him play more. All the r very best to him.

I totally agree with Amol. Sachin is God of cricket & few idiot comments not going to affect his stature. I am from Patna but supporting Mumbai Indian in IPL just because Sachin is playing in that team

mahesh bhai, why do we indians all the time try to spit on sky and feel happy as if we have done a great thing..... jealousy seems to be an integral part of our day to day lives. Why cant we openly accept and admit that someone who comes out of a middle class family and makes a fortune for himself and his family by his sheer talent should be appreciated by us. But somehow we always try to pull down someone who is climbing the ladder of success....mahesh can u please tell me which company are you working for???? have u been able to make your company a world class fortune 500 by YOUR efforts???? pointing fingers is very easy but have we ever tried to find out what have been our own achievements/contributions to the society or the organisations we work for?????????

what a waste this dave is have u seen the 2003 WC he single handedly helped india reach final but our bowlers made mess of gr8 chance u evry1 needs money to live he play coz he loves d game and we love him GO SACHIN GO!!!!!!1
Sachin BHAI you are 100% right in saying k you are not playing to prove anybody here....already you are great..it is amazing that you scored so many superb drive quote "There is still competitiveness (in me) I want to win and don't want to lose," Enjoy your game and give us entertainment as usual ...JAI HO Sachin
If Sachin does not retire with a batting average of atleast 58, all his statistics will go worthless considering the fact that he will be playing 170 test matches and started his career at young age. If his batting everage is less than 58,most of the people wont regard him high by saying that he has such statistics because he started his career at young age and played so many test matches.so what great about considering his batting average is less than 58. They will say Gavaskar,Dravid,Ponting,Sehway etc are equally good.
Re: Sachin - the batting average
by Ram on Apr 21, 2009 03:05 AM
Any average above 50 conistently in a career spanning 170 tests is in itself a great achievement. Sachin's trademark is consistency.
29000 Runs in International Cricket. Its not a Joke. Sachin you need not prove yourself. Every Great Cricketer know that your are great so just ignore media & critics.
Sachin should preserve his faculties for the longer versions of the game, especially tests. It has become a jargon nowadays to say 'not playing for records', 'not playing to prove anything' and the like. But, if Sachin can put the batting records in tests and one dayers, it is a matter of pride for the country. He has earned enough in his life as fame and money that even if he miss a dozen IPL editions, it will not change his life fame and money wise.

Hi Krishna, I understand what you are trying to say but dont you think that Sachin is now at the peak of his career and is loving his every bit of cricketing stint that is remaining in him. He is still one of the largest crowd puller in the game and I guess we must just leave the wish of playing cricket to him entirely as long as billions of fans all over enjoy him and his batting prowesses. Long Live Sachin. Jai Hind Jai Maharashtra.
