false stories by Alam Srinivas and T R Vivek

These foolish indian journalists consider themselves Lou Dobbs from CNN cooking up false facts. Shane Warne by far was the best Captain of the IPL. To even consider that he was not a choice is silly. When will these foolish people stop mimicking the american media and write something that is solid in evidence. They sound like Old man Gavaskar because of whose comments about Buchanan all the Australian players are pulling out of the IPL. When will we learn to have some common sense to write or say things that make sense instead of talking junk and writing garbage that no one really pays attention to.

Those people who say about security of IPL i m sure theu do not know abt the relevance of general election.I think for a game like cricket they want to forget the magnitude of choosing right people in india for rule.AS per ur knowledge dear bcci is a private governing body not truly represents India. They r money makers and why will agovernment give huge security to a private body.Tommorow u'll go nd say that i m organising a tournament give me Z security.Shame on u just shame to blame India.I think u r not an indian by heart.

I am proud of your thoughts. There are many who do not know what 'security' means in India in the present contest in particular. As I said in one of the previous writings, by taking IPL overseas, it will only glorify and globalize our indian cricket. So our PC was right in his decision and the response of Modi was ever smarter. We need more people who can respond positively to a crisis unprecedented in life.

Gyan and Gopal reserve these same words for commonwealth games. If 3rd front comes to power and loses it in a years time then Commonwealth Games and elections will clash. Moreover with the cash aspect being not so lucrative India will not attract enough top level atheletes for CWG. A good government stands up to a challange and should not shy away. There was a lot of politics behind this IPL not during election talks. Dont let yourself sweet-talked into believing what Chidambaram says. The crux of the matter is that India's security was continuously compromised during the past 5 years to such a level that we cannot dare to hold a tournament like IPL during elections. So go ahead and vote congress as they would ensure that without a 144 it is impossible to conduct elections next time around.

Congress softness on terrorism costing us dearly
by Desh Premi on Apr 16, 2009 06:31 PM  | Hide replies

UPA cannot provide security to 11 players then how can they provide security to 100 crore people. Lives are very cheap for UPA
Congress-UPA is solely responsible for the BCCI's decision to shift the IPL out of the country Has India become so unsecured like Pakistab that a domestic tournament has to go abroad? The whole country is disturbed with this move sending wrong signals about India's security condition, We used to hear about security threats to sporting events in Pakistan, but now this is happening in India. With the blessings of UPA/congress After this, how will India we respond to foreign teams who will travel to the country and how will we convince the tourists and players that India is secured for the Delhi Commonwealth Games? Alternatively govt can have an understanding with the terrorists not to attack hotels or non-election oriented stuffs

Shifting of IPL to a third country for security reasons is very valid and welcome move. The Government of India has acted correctly and wisely.

However the news that Advani has not allowed holding of the election rally in Azamgarh in UP for security reasons is absurd and unacceptable. When security is not possible for just a rally in this country how can they provide security for an event like the IPL?

Hitler managed to host Olympics in Germany during Second World War. Second World War's magnitue was much larger than current terrorist threats. Olympics has been even bigger than IPL or even for that matter a Cricket World Cup. Its a shame that Indian Govt can not provide security to a sporting event during Elections. Its a victory for terrorist organizations in the end.

Congress is not provided the security to the players, because they needed for the Afzal, Kasab and also needed it badly for their security.
