Bhajji atleast showed the courtesy to tell media persons the reason why he could not make it, but that arrogant Captain Dhoni dint even feel the need to speak to the media regarding this issue. Now that is arrogance.
Bhajji did try to keep things in proper prespective, where as Dhoni is concerned only about commercials and money coming out of them.
Bhajji could not make it as he had some prior family commitments. In a lighter vein he said next time i will reach 2 days in advance, this was attributed as arrogance by the media. Media dosent hv a sense of humour.
Dhoni too was absent for the award, then why only Bhajji is being targeted by the media.
In my opinion Bhajji deserves Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri is a low award for his par excellence contribution to Indian cricket.
He may not be as great as Anil, Warne or murali. But india do not have better spiner than him. We have tried many but he is better than all avaible. In IPL he may be asked to prove himself like others Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly etc
North indian arrogance. Sehwag has it, Yuvraj has it, now this over rated spinner. He is an ordinary spinner no where near Murali, Warne or Kumble.
However, the over the top talk shows him to be a Bradman or Sobers.
North indians have to learn to be humble even if they achieve success. They should learn from players like : Sachin, Kumble, Dravid, Gavasker and Viswanath.
I feel the only humble North Indian cricketer was the great Kapil Dev.

2008 was a roller coaster ride for Harbhajan Singh [Images]. Fighting his way through several controversies in the year, he settled down to find a place among the best spinners in the world after a stellar showing in India's triumphant run in Tests and One-Day Internationals.
The just-concluded New Zealand [Images] tour turned out to be the icing on the cake as he emerged the highest wicket-taker in both formats of the game with India winning the one-day and Test series, the latter after a gap of 41 years. Anil Kumble [Images] was gone, but Harbhajan ensured the leggie's absence was not felt.
It was not only his bowling, but a new-found penchant for batting that had the Kiwis dumbfounded. And, it comes as no surprise that the 28-year-old is now focussing on honing his batting skills and becoming the elusive all-rounder India has been looking out for.
He is now looking to stamp his mark on the Indian Premier League [Images], from which he was banned last year after a few games following the slapping incident.
In a candid conversation with Chief Sports Correspondent Harish Kotian, Harbhajan reflects on the year that was and the secret behind India's recent winning run.
How special was the New Zealand tour? India ended up winning both the ODI and Test series, a first outside the subcontinent?
Every match is important; but if you consider the record, we are very satisfied. We won the Test series in New Zealand after 41 years, which is special. And winning both t
