You are a bowler. A wickwt has fallen and Suresh Raina comes in as the next batsman. You wait for him to settle down. You suddenly remember watching him on TV and how he usually gets out - he goes down on his left knee, slogs high in the air to deep square leg or deep midwicket. You signal your teammate at midwicket to move closer to the boundary. You then bowl one on the middle and leg stump. Surely enough, Raina slogs it high up in the air, to deep midwicket, into the waiting hands of your teammate at deep midwicket!

4. Sehwag also played in that match, and 5,6 and 7 are not really records. I also admire Dravid as a batsman, my last post was reply to people like you who cannot stand success of people of other states.

Intensions are not to dicredit Dada or any player but to highlight the wrongs done by media particularly Bengalee media which only focussed on Dada but gave little importance to others resulting in no player from Bengal comming good these days. If in a class the teacher always start saying that only one fellow is the best and what will happwen to others. It is sad that even today the same thing is going on. Ganguly should have resigned the day Vengsarkar dropped him but instead he he went to Srikanth for another series which has no meaning. It is my personal feeling after all.

Thanks for the gesture. :-)
Don't worry, Bengal too has fresh batch of cricketers after Dada, watch out for them in IPL.
To end a few real records of Dada
1. First Indian to score a century against Aus in Aus. 2. Involved in most number of 200 run partnerships. He has this record jointly with Sachin and Ponting. 3. Won 21 out of 49 tests he had captained.
2, Got innumerable chances which no one else in the world has got in spite of very poor
performance
3. Ran away after seeing a wet pitch
4. Bad captaincy as we chose fielding against Aussies after winning the Toss at 2003 WC
Final. Batted very poorly in that series against all good teams.
4.In the morning of Mumbai test vs Australia left for shooting leaving the Captaincy to
Dravid who won the Test handsomely.
5. Lost all self-respect as he reentered the Indian team through politicians and wrote
against Dalmia whose Chamcha he was before bowing to Pawar.
6. Too much hype by media as it is controlled by Bongs and particularly Telegraph .
7. Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Arun Lal, Malhotra have their academies in Kolkata and done
naturally will have to write favourably otherwise they will be shown chappals as was
done to Rahul Dravid and Greg who are highly disciplined .
8 Sehwag had several chances like Ganguly and Bhajji was not playing that well during
Dravids time and Zaheer was injured. No one respects Ganguly but because the Media
is controlled by Bongs( courtsy Bhaskar Ghosh and Rathin Bose whio almost sold DD
to Star ) all these the personalities have no option but to say ‘Yes’
9 Fortunately for Dhoni Dada is not in the Team

1. That is because he stood up against ICC. 2. Dravid too got innumeraible chances this year his bad run started from January 2008 ended in March 2009. 3. Has played in "wetter" pitches in England. 4. In the group league of 2003 World Cup India batted against Aus and was bowled out in less than 130 5. Lost self respect as he became a puppet in hands of Chappell 6. Since Telegraph is published from Kolkata it is controlled by Bengalis, I think Bangalore people controls all the daily's which are from South. 7. Highly disciplined Greg was kicked out by Australians when he came with the team which visited India last year. 8. Chappell almost finished Sehwag and Zaheer, if Chappal was their Zaheer would have been playing today for a County side not India. Dravid was an yes-man to Chappell. 9. Dada gracefully retired.
is no.1 not because of thier aggresive nature, mental superiority etc. Australia is no.1 because they have excellent talent spotting abilities. So even if they lose some great players, sooner or later they will get their replacements.

Kamran is exciting because there aren't any 140 plus bowlers in India other than Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth. But Iam sceptical since he is only 5,7.He will break down after a season just like Ajit Agarkar who also had a slight frame with good pace.
Greg only predicted the potential in Raina. Dravid and Dhoni were there during non-cooperation of others during Chappel's time. Dravid was responsible for Sehwag getting a chance in the WC 2007 and early captaincy of Dhoni is also due to Dravid. Dravid had the guts to take along with him in IPL a player like Kumble and I am sure no one would have dared to include Kumble in a T20 XI. Such is the spirit of Dravid and even today if you see the record he has won many matches for his team, his Team India and in the local Challenger Trophy for Team Selectiona as CAPTAIN. Records will tell how easily Dravid could have become an excellent captain but for Bengal Politicians led by so called Leftist like Somnath defeated the whole Idea. Dravid took few matches to score a century even in the poorest of form but his predecessor took 18 innings after come back to score a century. It must be remembered that in the same match others have also scored centuries and double centuries

yeah unlike dada who is a real joker and he always goes to the press and makes a small issue a very big issue......when dravid was dropped as captain of RCB he didn't go to the press, when Laxman was dropped as captain of DC he didn't go to the press, only dada goes to the press everytime and causes all trouble leading to protests in kolkatta......no wonder kolkatta has not hosted any international matches for sometime which is the main reason and not difference between CAB and local authorities over the ground its a real shame that this guy has been our successfly captain......real shame for India

Laxman never captained India and Dravid himself resigned from captaincy saying that he was not enjoying it, you cannot compare them with Ganguly whose captaincy is given to likes of McCullum (never captained the Kiwis), Shukla (played 3 ODIs for India) and Gayle (whose captincy record is nothing as compared to Ganguly's)

The Great Greg Chappel
1. Was kicked out from the coaching team of his own Aussie side when they visited India. 2. Ruined the career of Irfan Pathan who was termed as one of the best swing bowling prospects of India when the toured Aus in 2003-04. 3. Almost ruined Zaheer Khan (currently India's number 1 strike bowler) and Sehwag. 4. Sachin, Sehwag and Bhajji (none of them come from the state of Dravid's predecessor) stated that Chappell wanted to "Divide and Rule" in Indian Cricket. 5. Now India is called "Dhoni's team" before it was called "Ganguly's Team", however, in between it was called "Chappell's team" and NOT "Dravid's team".

Correct. Because Dravid and Laxman are mature people who do not cry out loud unlike Ganguly, people think Ganguly is the injured party always. It's the crying baby that gets heard.
