This Indian Team is not the best ever
by BIBHAS BASUMATARY on Apr 13, 2009 02:32 AM

Why this Indian Team is not th best ever?
a) This is the period of FLAT Picthes - batsmen can clobber all bowlers
b) Non-existent of world class bowlers (like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Richard Hadlee, Denis Lilee, McGrath, Warne, Holding, Garner, Walsh, Ambrose, Marshal, even younger Vaas, Shane Bond, Shaun Pollock)
c) Indian Money - IPL etc. and India's clout in the Cricket economy has made it almost immpossible to enable moral fight against India. The opposing teams donot show any aggression. They are complacent and quite happy just to finish the proceeding and accept defeat gracefuly against India. Even Bret lee is worn out and Shoiab Akhtar is in his final stages. There are no good opposing bowlers.
Do you think Tendulkar, Dhoni or Yuvraj could have been able to hit these bowlers like they now do to all bowlers - who only bowl to make Indians happy.
I think India' best team was from 1983 to 1986. They won tournament outside the country against world class bowlers and had tremendous self belief and confidence.

abt ind team
by vinay on Apr 11, 2009 06:21 PM

abt ind team, it can b said that its best compared to other world teams in contemporary ckt playing nations across the world.

but its not the best of all time. as its rather decline of other teams' quality. even ajit wadekar in his statement said that his team victory in nz, 41 years back, was much better against the quality opponents.

so ind is better compared to all other teams right now playing test ckt, better than even ausis. but not the best of all time.

who is keen on cricket these days - cricket is business - only Indians continue playing cricket - do you have a quality fast bowler half as good as Roberts/Marshall/Lille/Holding/
Imran/Akram/Willis ? can any bowler bowl with four slips and 2 gullies - NO - craft is no more and test cricket is dead - only in India as we are good in nothing else cricket is followed - again money spinning -

Bhajji's comments
by Vi sumu on Apr 11, 2009 04:50 PM

Bhajji is the one who is still raw and immature. India always had a cricket team capable of winning anywhere. Whether it was 1999 or 2009, we always had very talented players. So, the question was never about capability. It was consistency and the thirst to win that was lacking.
The best joke though was Bhajji calling Ishant raw. Here is a guy with so many years of cricket behind him and almost 500 ODI and tesr wickets under his belt, still unable to control his emotions, shows no sportsmanship and he calls Ishant raw. Bhajji has a long way to go before he can be called a polished player.

It appears to me that your comments are waste, Mr Waste.

Only people who are timid use the word or are not clear in their mind use the world "if"

Harbhajan- the unsung hero of the Indian team
by shashwat on Apr 11, 2009 11:39 AM  | Hide replies

Bhajji performs so well every time. Every one knows in their hearts of hearts that Harbhajan is the best spinner India has produced till date. Still no one is ready to praise him. This reflects the communal mindset of ppl in our country. In this blog also no blogger is saying any nice thing about him.

Had Harbhajan been from any other community, he would hv been showered with compliments and would hv been endorsing every other brand.

But its his bad luck to hv been born in a particular community which is looked down upon in our country.

what you say is either misinformed, immature or evil. harbhajan is loved across india. so is zaheer(muslim), tendulkar(marathi), ganguly(bangla), dravid(kannada), laxman(telgu), sreesanth(malayali), dhoni(bihari), yuvraj(punjabi), sehwag(jat) and all others. the above come from different communities and work as one single team with one single motto. and thats the magic of india. when you think on communal lines, all the differences will crop up. and when you rise beyond them, everything becomes one and strong like the indian team.

There are people, although very few in numbers- whose only objective in life is to malign SRT. Such people belong to one or all of the following categories:

People who, unfortunately, were brought up around unhealthy environments that make them attention seekers (I mean they have been deprived of love and affection in their childhood. Such people always says just opposite to what is universally true or accepted by experts)

People who could not achieve whatever little they wanted to (Such people hate people who are best in what they do)

Cricketers (Including Indian national team) who suffer from inferiority complex because of Sachin (talking big in front of media does not always means that the person is confident—likewise, not all the actors and actress are confident)

People who are hired by players’ sponsors to increase the values of their players by maligning Sachin (very cheap marketing stunt). What can I say; they are the poor souls, as they have to earn their livelihood by maligning others.

Which category you belong to, Mr. Waste?
