abt ind team, it can b said that its best compared to other world teams among contemporary ckt playing nations across the world.
but its not the best of all time. as its rather decline of other teams' quality. even ajit wadekar in his statement said that his team victory in nz, 41 years back, was much better against the quality opponents.
so ind is better compared to all other teams right now playing test ckt, better than even ausis. but not the best of all time.

gauti..no doubt is a gutsy batsman...above all he has improvised his batting skills a lot in these years according to demands of international cricket in all forms of game..
His only batting flaw is that he sometimes plays an offside cricketing shot standing in the crease without using the footwork.
His stance is that of Justin Langer but he plays like Matty...
Sachin Tendulkar has praised India's coach Gary Kirsten for his role in the team's first Test series win in New Zealand for more than 41 years. Since beating Australia late last year India have been on a roll, with their confidence right up, and Tendulkar felt Kirsten's allowing the team to be themselves was key.
"A lot of credit has to go to coach Gary Kirsten who has allowed the natural instincts of players to flourish," he told the Mumbai-based tabloid Mid-day. "A lot has got to do with what's going on in a player's mind and Gary has played a huge role there.
"Along with Gary, the support staff Venkatesh Prasad (bowling coach), Robin Singh (fielding coach), our physio Nitin Patel and Paddy Upton (mental conditioning coach). It's the huge effort from all of them that has created this environment." SOURCE: CRICINFO

Gambhir's batting impresses me; however, I was not impressed by his comment on last day of 3rd test against NZ. There was no need to berate NZ team. Even Heavens were not pleased with that.
I personally think that Redneriv Gawhes has run his course as a top flight test opening batsman.....opposition bowlers like Johnson, Chris Martin, Steyn will either sort him out or bowl in areas where his natural attacking play would be cancelled out.......
It is time Redneriv Gawhes is pushed down the order and Matuag Rihbmag is given a new opening partner......
