M.S Dhoni is answer to India's prayers for a good all rounder. In quest of an all rounder Ganguly made a wicket keeper out of Dravid which was resented by the latter. Here we have a natural, an effective batsman, a good wicket keeper and an intelligent captain - all rolled into one. This is what explains India's recent run of victories sans defeats. In the past too India had been winning but the consistency was not there and diheartening defeats were coming in regularly.
I stil remmember the day he was declared the ICC cricketer of the year for both Best player as well best Test player in 2006. Rahul was going great guns and Whether it was Challenger Trophy or the world XI under his leadership or the Local touraments in India or the Selection of teams for ODInas well Test Rahul as captain has fairedv much better than any one else. He always lead from the front and is the most knowledgeable cricketer of the time. Unfortunately everybody know how politics creeped and being a gentleman he left captaincy and also refrained from giving irrelevant comments. This is the reason he is liked by all great cricketers of today and yesterday.
On the basis of current form the only dubious entry is ponting, other than that its a very balanced team. Howevr i dont see another batsman in number 3 slot who can replace him with current form. So i would drop him and go for flintoff at no 7 and push others 1 place up in the batting ordr.
Wisden's World Eleven has five Indians in it including its captain. It should be a matter of pride for us. Unfortunately a number of Indian contributors are hurt by this. They are suggesting that Dhoni should not have been in the team. Perhaps they would have thought differently if some one from their region had been selected, say a Dravid or a Dinesh Karthik. I wonder whether any English man, an Aussie, a South African or a even Pakistani would have reacted like this. But this happens only in India. It is pathetic.

Well , I too feel it is not too ideal a world ix side . But going by performance , maybe it gets it credit . My choice would be , Smith - captain and opener sehwag- opener Sachin - 1 down Kevin Peterson Kumar Sangakara (keeper) Shivnarain chanderpaul Jaques Kallis Zaheer Khan Bret Lee Dale Steyn Muralitharan Gautam Gambhir (12th man) Mitchel Johnson (13th)
If there has to be captain for the Wisden world eleven, it should have been the South African skipper Graeme Smith. He has beaten Australia in Australia which no other captain has done in 16 years. The choice of Wicket keeper is also idiotic. Brad Haddin has scored more runs in this season than Dhoni, and is much more a serious test batsman than that Indian grave-digger.

you are not only stupid but u r a bad analyst.India is a such good team that dhoni never gets the opportunity to score and when he gets he does score runs which puts lot of pressure on the opponent team.
