indian attitude
by Ajai Jacob on Apr 07, 2009 10:52 AM  | Hide replies

most indians want to talk big about their small achievements ignoring the larger picture. It is simply bragging without substance. Please brag and boast after achieving no.1(or at least no.2)status in icc rankings.
Even after all these years,India, the largest cricketing nation in the world(in terms of population) is unable to achieve no.1 status in a game played seriously by just 8 countries.

What a joke by Yuvraj...!!!
by Manu Zach on Apr 06, 2009 11:34 PM  | Hide replies

Expecting rain, and still wants a lead of over 600....hahhahhaaaaaa....The reality is that Dhoni and Yuvraj both wanted to score at least half-centuries. Else, what was the need for a lead of over 500; leave alone 600 to beat a team like New Zealand. And now, because of the 600 plus lead, Indian team might end up drawing this test as rain is predicted for tomorrow.

In the present conditions of the pitch it is not impossible to bat for two days. Batsman will get out only if they play a false shot. There is no point in giving Newzealand even a mild chance of winning. It was always better to bat Newzealand out of the game. Whether it is 1-0 or 2-0 history will be created. If India give them a chance to win they will go for it even at the cost of loosing it. Only by winning the game they can reclaim their lost pride.

Pride???? New Zealanders had nothing to loose. Not even pride. They are the lowest rank nation in test cricket, and they know that better than anybody else. They achieved more than they expected by drawing the second test and putting the so-called best batting line up in the world under huge pressure.

To faith on weather conditions is very rare and especially in Kiwi. In regard to declaring late by Dhoni is right decision by crossing 600 and plus so that there is no chance for the kiwi to win the game but only two option either to loose the game or drawn. As my own suggestion is whatever Dhoni has done is good, because we are wining the series in Kiwi after 41 yrs. and such opportunity should not be given out easily to the opponents.

by vinay on Apr 06, 2009 11:19 PM

many of ind prey to god for rain when ind is in soup when v want to draw the match. its good to see mcculum voicing his positive thinking of giving a good fight.

but the situation is almost out of control for them. n chances of ind wining 2-0 is bright, brighter then the daylight.

Yuvraj a liability!!
by suryanarayan bhaskar on Apr 06, 2009 06:43 PM  | Hide replies

Yuvraj is an absolute liability on the test Team. he has played 28 test matches and has done nothing except a couple of knocks. There are other playesr like Badrinath and Pujara with a much better technique, temprament and superioe first class averages.

u r absolutely right. including badrinath & pujara, some other players like wasim jaffer, m. vijay, aakash chopra, etc can be replaced with yuvraj singh bcoz they much much much better betting techniques for test cricket than yuvraj singh.

u r 100% right, Yuvi should be axed from Test and he should be concentrated on 20-20 format and ODI games instead of Test matches. Selectors should be given chance to Badrinath, Pujara, Wasim Jaffar and M. Vijay instead of Yuvi.

Indian win should be appreciated for the simple fact that we are doing it so after many decades.
Flat wickets are not NZ strength but India's strength. India should prove that they are a competent team by winning in bouncy green pitch.

For once Dhoni has been a cagey captain and very defensive....If it rains he is primary to be blamed for the draw.....not so long back Dravid got a lot of flak for securing a 1-0 series lead in England....wonder how much media will criticize dhoni if somehow NZ escape with a draw....

I think Dhoni is right in setting a target in excess of 600.

Remember Kiwis once chased almost 549 runs (fell short by 98 runs) against England at Christchurch in March 2002. Nathan Astle scored a splendid 222.

Anything is possible by Kiwis!

Actually RUNIA that is not way. Dhoni has declared late not to cross his 50 but in order to give certain target for the Kiwi and certain session so that for them impossible to score 600 & during that over.

strangely enuf, the pitches were not as grassy as they used to be in New Zealand. I'm not nit-picking, but honestly, such high scores were unheard of in New Zealand
