Bring back Sreesanth

What about Sreesanth?
He is miles ahead of Munaf Patel and only Ishant is quicker than him.He is extremely dangerous with varying varieties and only R.P Singh and Munaf are no match for Sreeanth.

Ganguly buttering his zonal selector in BCCI
by Sameer K on Sep 28, 2008 03:06 PM  | Hide replies

trongly hoping to be retained in the Test squad for the Australia series beginning October 9, Ganguly feels that the Venkat's appointment will benefit Bengal cricket.

Asked whether the former Bengal left-hander Venkat, who replaces former Orissa captain Ranjib Biswal, will push for his selection in the Australia Test squad, Ganguly replied, "Let's hope he tries... I hope to do well (in the Australia series) if selected... If not then let's see."

"Venkat's appointment as the national selector from East Zone is really good. It's a great thing for Bengal cricket. The state will definitely get help from him," Ganguly told reporters at a function on Saturday.
===================================
LOL such a mean character he is. Earlier during the days of Jagmohan Dal-mey-Kali-miya he used to be selected by default (without performing), and he was never bothered about who the selectors are and never congratulated any selectors then. Now when Jaggu is out of power and Ganguly is on sidelines of not being selected, he is wishing and buttering his zonal selector in BCCI.

what nonsense! it is a known fact that Bengal cricketers are overlooked and less deserving candidates from some zones get unfairly selected.
Recent examples are Manoj Tiwary and Ashok Dinda.
Even Laxmi Shukla was better than some of the Powars tried earlier!

India Should Play Five Bowlers
by Ramanjaneyulu Gandluri on Sep 28, 2008 10:59 AM  | Hide replies

For some strange reasons, most of the test teams are playing only 4 specialist bowlers. The strategy may be good in English or Australian (including Newzeland) condiations. But in the sub continent conditions you need five specialist bowlers. Since India's pace attack is quite good now, Kumble should insist up on playing three fast bowlers (Ishant, Zaheer and Munaf) and two spinners (kumble and Harbhajan). This is more so, as India has a specialist batsman keeper in Dhoni.

Ganguly's career is OVER! He better resign! No cricketer in the world begs for a place in the team the way he begs! He should realize a few things! Firstly, Jaggu dada is no more the boss and he hashis plate full to handle issues to save himself! Secondly, Vengsarkar who was at he helm of activities is gone and Cheeka is in! Cheeka will be more interested to get in S Badrinath (of course on merit!), which means that with Sehwag/Gambhir/Jaffaer/Chopra (any 2 for the openers slot) and Dravid, Tendulakr, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj and Badrinath (any 3amongst 5 & (Dhoni/Kaarthic/Parthiv)- any one among 3 are up to take teh top 6 places. The next 5 will be 2 spinners and 3 medium fast bowlers. Ganguly seems to have missed the bus!

Boss, i agree ganguly's days are over, but what about the other superstars? Thy can continue to batpoorly but wd still be in the team! Again, badri though sound on temparament, lacks skills against good fast bowling as was seen against ishant and company. He also seems to have very limited range of strokes. It wd be interesting to see how cheeka selects the team which i hope is based on pure merit and not regionalism.
