Findings so far..
by Orient Mystique on Sep 27, 2008 10:38 AM

* Sehwag retains his unpredictability as a batsman. He isn't a bad captain. If BCCI decide to dispense with the ageing Kumble, he should be the natural choice for test captaincy. Dhoni can wait for 2-3 years for test captaincy but can continue to lead the team in the shorter versions of the game.

* Gambhir merits his place as opener in tests and hence should continue.

* The wall is as confused and confusing as ever.

* The much hyped and volatile Bhajji has to be on his toes now. It wouldn't be a bad idea to give more opportunities to C Nanda. Picking up 8 rest of India wickets for just 108 runs with a fine economy rate is no mean achievement for a player about whom we haven't heard till now.

* Players like Irfan, R P Singh, Sreesanth have to be on their toes now. Watch out for Sangwan!

* We may perhaps hear more about Bisht ahead of the likes of Parthiv and Dinesh Karthik, if only he finds a Godfather in BCCI!

good innings from chopra
by vinay on Sep 27, 2008 12:23 AM  | Hide replies

considering the lively spell of pace bowling in the first innings when delhi were all out for merely 177.
chopra innings proved that he is perfect fit for test openers slot.

because this championship was named after the late Z.R. Irani, who was associated with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from its inception in 1928, till his death in 1970.

Cont3.....
by Arup Chakraborty on Sep 26, 2008 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

It is very sad to see our senior players like Scahin, Sourav, Dravid, Laxman dont want to give chance to talented junior players. Itz sad to see talented player like Yuvraj was wasted in indian cricket coz so fab 4 dont want to leave their place. Now when Yuvraj will get chance after reaching 30.
I dont understand what else these seniors need. Everyone understand when they need to sign off u can see Brian Lara, Adam Gilchrist, Shoun Pollock. But these players dont lean from them. Itz a same.
I ask to the selectors take bold decision and kick off them let give chance to younger talented players so that they show their capabilities.

Now how many chance Yuvraj should be given??? He is one of the super floppest player india has ever produced!!!
Talk something sensible.
What has he done in series against OZ, Sl and even BD? He is in team only becos of Dhoni. Hitting 6 sixes once doesnot mean that he can bat scoreless in each and evry other matches he plays.
Other than Gambhir which youngster has performed? Look at rohit, karthik, uttappa, what have they done.

@Pratap singh..Not too sure about Arup's knowledge of cricket being disappointing but ur language is very disappointing,no doubt..When will u learn that it is "afsos" not "afsoos" and it is "Amitabh" not "Abitabh"..
first work on ur language, then preach others on their knowledge of cricket :)

what is the use of making 69 runs in 211 balls???dravid plays so slowly that even if we are in a position to win the match we would never win it.i think if he has to retire gracefully this his chance make runs in the upcoming tour even if it takes him a day to score it and then retire.atleast that will make him happy that he ended on a good note!that should be the first exit from the fab four.

Sunita,u r right but he should be & might be the second one to exit..the first casualty has already happened..Ganguly is out..I am hust waiting for the other three(tendulkar, laxman and kumble)to make an exit, dignified or otherwise!
