Reason for Australia winning here in last series
by Arjun y on Oct 04, 2008 10:45 PM  Permalink

Only reason was Dalmiya/Pawar. Everyone saw what Nagpur pitch was like on the first morning and the next one in Mumbai.

Jason Gillespie (Comment): The wicket was green and had a bit of carry. It was so different from most of the Indian wickets, which are flat, low and suit the spinners.

I am not supporting the excuses give by our batsmen on that pitch, but it was there everyone to see how Dalmiya/Pawar (And their respective boards) play the cards.

India should win comfortably this time as pitches will be turning ones, just to keep the action going between Aus vs India in coming years as well.

Greg Chappel is very happy that the sharpest among the Indian bowlers, Ajit Agarkar will not be playing in the upcoming sereis.

get ready for a roasting
by mahim on Sep 25, 2008 04:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

i do not believe that oz would not beat us in the upcoming series
our indian team is a flash in the plan
get ready for their excuses
for excuses, it was umpiring in oz, rain in chennai in 2004, one-off series in lanka(its just that every second series is a one-off for our team)
there is this nonsense about our team this, our team that
greg chappell got panned never mind that he has a better winning percentage as captain and coach than any indian
was it greg's fault that we had 3 batsman with 10000 runs each batting like pussycats against bangladesh in west indies
india, indian sport, indian cricket is great at passing the buck.
and hear hear, that one-eyed, most biased sunil gavaskar is saying just that eventhough he always glorifies everything indian and always puts down everything western coz he is a racist
we in india always complain about racism but the reality is that india is full of racism which is why we look at everything with one eye and what about those fellows who live abroad(those of indian origin)-they think they are indian and not anything else which proves that they are traitors to the countries they are living in
we in india just cannot listen the crooked truth

Australians were lucky last time
by varun on Sep 25, 2008 01:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Australians were lucky to win the series in india in 2004. Had the last day in chennai not been rained off india would have leveled the series 2-2. India required 200 runs on the final day with 10 wickets in hand to win the test. This time australians will lose the series 2-1. They don't have a good spinner and it is almost impossible to win in the sub-continent without a spinner.

Or it couldve been 3-1 in favour of Aussies if rain didnt interrupt,we all know how fabulous our batsmen are chasing scores in the last day pitches...by the way do u remember Ganguly running away seeing a grassy pitch in the third test,r u saying that was also luck or lack of cricket skills with confidence...

A tale of Ants and Grasshoppers
by Ganesri on Sep 25, 2008 12:48 PM  Permalink

Whenever I see Aussies and Indians, I remind of this story. Indians are like Grasshoppers. They have plenty of money for now. They do not practice before matches, they just spend time in modeling and relaxing somewhere, and then directly come and play to loose it anyway. But Aussies are like Ants, they work hard to win matches, they won't bother whether money comes to them or not. They depend on hard work. Indians should develop such an attitude, they should not play for money but for the nation and for themselves.

This test series is Guru greg(Aus) Vs senior players(Ind)
by Notout_Naveen on Sep 25, 2008 11:14 AM  Permalink

Indians should defeat Australia in the coming test series to give a fitting reply not just to Ricky n his team...also to Guru Greg who is helping them in this series..

So seniors ( specially Sachin) pull up ur socks n raise ur levels. this is the right time to make an amends...Show Chappel that ur still the best... he may come up with all aggerssive tactics..u should counter attack him right from the word go...make him pay for whatever decision he takes off the field..n this series should become his first n last seires as assistant coach to Aus..I m optimist that u guys ll do...

But if it happens the other way..then plz all seniors better take retirement.

MS DHoni is gr8...........................
by SachinTheGreat on Sep 25, 2008 09:58 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mr. Cyber ur wrong MS DHoni is gr8 bcoz:

1)MS DHoni is the best wicket-keeper after Adam Gilchrist coz He has an average of 17.42 against Asutralia.
2)MS DHoni is gr8 bcoz He just m,issed his highest score of 100 against Australia in Test Matches by 62 runs :-)
3)MS DHoni is gr8 bcoz He has an average of 150 in Test Matches and an average of 123 in ODI's against stong Teams like Bangladesh and Zimbabwae.
4)MS DHoni is gr8 bcoz MS Dhoni scored 10 runs in T20 world cup finals whereas Moronic Buffoon Gautham Gambhir scored just 75 runs from 54 balls and yet Gautham Gambhir is not doing any endorsements whereas MS DHoni is doing 35 endorsements.
5)MS DHoni is gr8, gr8, gr8, gr8, gr8 and gr8 bcoz MS DHoni takes his friends like Robin Uthapa and Irfan Pathan and drops waste players like Viru Sehwag.

Why are we blaming Chappel? HE as an individual as all the right to move on and take new assignments. try drawing anomaly of our own personal - professional life, A person moves from one company to another within the same industry getting a better package. What does he do there - shares his experiences / skills attained in previous place of work with the new environment.

Similarly Chappel will do the same. Didnt he come here with some skill sets which did help the Indian team. We should take it in the right spirit and play competitively and winning the series is the best reply we can give to the Aussies.

Well said.

I am amazed that rediff refers to him as former Indian coach than australian assistant coach or chief of Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence.

And BCCI clarified that it has no issues with the former Aussie captain? Why should they have any issues? This is all crazy.
