VVS Laxman is better than MS Dhini in ODI's......................
by SachinTheGreat on Sep 25, 2008 02:15 PM  | Hide replies

Accordin to Me VVS Laxman is better than MS Dhoni is ODI's coz just have a look at VVS record in ODI's.

VVS Laxman:

Matches:86, Runs scored:2386, Highest:108, Average:30.26, Hundred':6.

VVS Laxman has scored 6 hundred's in 86 Matches whereas MS Dhoni scored only 4 hundred's in 120 ODI Matches.

Mr.Anurag Rathore if u again tell that MS Dhoni is better than Sachin Tendulkar and Viru Sehwag in the last 4 ye
ars, Then think again........

If you are judging base on 100's only after 2000 Sachin scored 17 hundred in test while Hayden and Ponting each 29.
So Sachin is miles behind from Hayden and Ponting after 2000 in test according to number of hundreds. He comes at number 13.

Number of 100 is not the best way to judging any player.

Judging a player according to century scored is not the right way man.. one must c the contribution of a player to help his team winning the match.. in this race VVS is far behind than MSD.. & hard 2 believe bt in this race Sachin is also far behind than Ponting.. hey dont discuss with me.. just c the records first n then say anything..

Laxman in last 4 year in ODI
M - 4
Runs - 72
Avg. - 18
So here you are also wrong. So easy for me to defend Dhoni. He is miles behind from Dhoni in any way.

I think you are only targeting Dhoni, that means you have accepted my other two claims.
1.Yuvraj was better than Sachin in ODI in last 4 years.
2.Sehwag was better than Sachin in Test in last 4 years.

Hmmm....even if we discuss from morning to evening we wont come to a conclusion. Only time will tell that Dhoni is just a overhyped average cricketer. U and others will realize it very soon. Soon??? may not be becoz.......even if he is a complete failure in the upcoming series still I dont see people realizing his GREATNESS. It might take some time. But one thing is for sure: He will never touch an average of 40 in tests which is the mother of all forms. Dont be surprised if his average coming down in ODI's also if he starts batting up the order.

He comes back just because of the failure of W.Jaffer in test. In ODI he was in extra in most of the matches in CB series.

I am talking abt his selection to tour Aus inspite there was Akash Chopra who was in red hot form that season. Imagine an Aussies (Ian Chappell) supporting him for a place in the squad. U dont see Aussies supporting players from subcontinent. If they do, then the reciever should be truly great.
The whole world knows why he was made to warm benches in that series.

Pakistan’s fast bowling great Waqar Younis said he was relieved he did not have to bowl to Sehwag.

“I don’t know how I would have been able to stop him,” he said.

Do u want me to post the link as well?

Lets forget what we think on Sehwag,Dhoni, Sachin and others. This is what Lee(who will bowl at them in the series) had to say in a press conference:

Lee said the Australian bowling attack should not be underestimated although it had no Test experience in Indian conditions, and the Indian team would again be populated with "superheroes" such as Virender Sehwag,Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman.

The Aussies dont even think of players like Dhoni as a threat.

I think you are not new to cricket. These kind of praises have poured in tons for Sachin,Sehwag,Dravid and Laxman long back. Dhoni is just a new kid in the block and hence now. Even today if u have an opinion poll on whom people (including present and former cricketers) would love/pay to watch bat Sehwag will lead the race by miles.

But still he gets into the team from nowhere. Why? Becoz everyone knows how great a player is he and about his potential. Can u imagine Dhoni touring Australia if he had been in Sehwag's place witha string of failures even in Ranji matches. That is where a players greatness comes into picture.

Dhoni is a regular opener from his state and before coming to the side he toured SA and Zimm from IND-A and make highest run. He destroyed bowlers like Nel and Langvaldt on their home pitches.
Now his role is changed in the team, he is in role of finisher.
He can anytime destroy any bowling attack on any pitch. We have seen his inning of 186*.

When enquired one of my friend gave the following facts about Sachin’s finals in tournaments:

38 finals mean all finals(like best of three), not tournament finals alone. Lost : 19 Finals, Won : 15, No Result : 4. Of which we played Srilanka Nine times, Zimbabwe once and Kenya Once.

What is Ur definition of a Tournament, India won against Sri Lanka in the 5 ODI series recently, Now will U call that as Tournament, If I use the same logic then MS DHoni is an utter failure in 2007 world cup where his average was 9.44 and ICC Champions Trophy where his average was 24.56, Mr.Anurag Rathore what about that now, BTW MS DHoni record in T20 world cup:

MS DHoni in T20 world cup:

Matches:8.

Runs scored:154

Highest:45.

Average:30.24.

Now compare that to Gautham Gambhir who scored 227 runs in 6 Matches at av average of 39.50 in T20 world cup, BTW Gautham Gambhir was 2nd highest run scorer after Mathew Hayden who scored 269 runs in T20 world cup..........

I never claim Dhoni as best batsman of 20-20.

He will make it every 3rd or 4th match if he starts thinking of records and personal milestones at the the cost of his role in the team which is to get as many runs as QUICKLY as possible.

His 90 plus inning against Eng and 148 against Pak are enough to show his ability in test.
M.Boucher hit only 4 hundred in 118 test matches. Just find him an opportunity with talendors.

MOS in Srilanka......Yes I was really surprised to see him given (not being) MOS in SL. There were bowlers who performed better than him consistetly who could have been chosen. Moreover there was Thilan Thushara who performed well both with bat and ball.

U want 140 from Sehwag ? I dont think there is a need for 140 from a single player in ODI if a team is to play just 50 overs. A quick fire 70-80 will be valuable as well. Also, do u think it is not possible for him if he starts thinking of records and stats ? He is more than capable of doing that.
