Only one match for Irani Trophy in a year. And you are all trying every crooked way to attack Sachin. Sachin has played Ranji matches whenever its possible. Check his Ranji Statistics. For a player of his calibre, never hesitated to play for his team whenever is possible.
His great double against Aussies(Shane Warne attacked) for Mumbai is still vivid in memory.
He may have lost his such a fearsome attack, but still the best in business at present.
Neither Sachin, nor Sourav appear in the list! It proves that the many of the "Star" players can not motivate themselves in such tournaments! But it never means that they are incompetents! The players who scored most runs might be great! We can not forget men like Biswanath, Sunny etc. But in comparison with the performances of Sachin & Sourav in the international matches, most of the best performers in the "Irani" Trophy do not stand! Further, erstwhile international matches were limited compared with nowadays! Hence, none could look down upon the permonce of Sachin in the "Irani Trophy"! genious is always genious!

Sachin is incomparable. everyone will have consensus in that, however, in domestic competitions he has not lived upto expectation, which is also true and cannot be denied.

In connection with my above opinion, may I request the authority concerned to publish the number of matches Sachin & Sourav played in the "Irani Trophy" and their allround performence in those matches?

Irani Trophy is a domestic tournament.. our great four (Sachin, Ganguly, Dravid and VVS) has already proved themselves on international level. As we all know Sachin is incomparable and one of the greatest. (Go to Youtube and see his innings against Aussies, Pakistan etc).. Dravid / Ganguly and VVS are great players. India should be proud of them.

Hi, Sachin scored century in his very first Ranji, Dalip Trophy. He could not play Irani trophy because of his international commitment for the national team. He does not have to prove.. he is the greatest ever. If you do not understand his batting then better you keep your faltu mouth shut.

Please check SRT's domestic average and strike rate and get back to me.If you have something else to say keep it with yourself.Also SRT is a player who plays 70% days of a year. People can be stupid..but not idiotically stupid like you
It is really surprising not to see the much famed Sachin's name in any of the list - Highest individual score/hundres's/fifties/most appearences and all. Considering his long (almost 20 years) career, he should have made his presence felt in these domestic competitions as well, but unfortunately for some reasons, Sachin does not favour playing domestic cricket much. Really pathetic. Even this year, he will not take part in the event citing injuries.

Hi,
Irani Trophy is played for India Probables, So making a Debut at 14 on the national Level and there after excelling for years together. So why he should play Irani trophy at first place. Also please look into the facts and figures of his domestic career and then put forth your opinion.
See might be this article is posted some time earlier and no body is intrested to read it forget about commenting on it. Indian people are intrested only in International cricket that to if India is playing. They are intrested in Domestic cricket, people are not aware when are Ranji Trophy matches played, When is Dileep trophy played and even people are not intrested in Irani trophy. Just want to see cricket when Indian team is doing good even if India is playing against countries like Zimbawae and Kenya Indian public follow the score very closely. But not intersted in knowing other matches. Not only the public also the news channels and media don't even update it in the scrolls below. Any way this is my observation. Nishat Ali
