Aussie posturing
by jcb jcb on Sep 22, 2008 06:00 PM

No one should read too much into this statement by jason, its again aggressive posturing by the Aussies. THey have always used this tactic before a sports event so that the opponent feels the heat in advance and loses confidence. Indians should just concentrate on the game. Fitness or no, we are still a force to reckon with in Cricket.

Indians dont have "Team spirit"....proof...read this site where Indians are fighting amongst themselves & washing dirty linen in public...no unity whatsoever...no wonder terrorists are freely moving around..End of the day its simply "training & stamina".Eg: construction.railway labourers, fishermen etc

The fact that some of the best athletes India has ever produced have come from South India proves your theory entirely wrong.
You seem to lack common sense, let alone any trace of intelligence. Case closed.

Yes what u said about the Indians scoring in boundaries and walking for singles are true as they can score more than anybody in the world in boundaries alone. You see the average of top Five of Team India is better than most others in the world. And if they start taking singles more and convert the singles into doubles then you can't imagine how much will be their carrer average.

i was talking about ramanathan krishnan being the only top athlete india have produced in a globally popular sport but he was ranked no 3 in the unofficial rankings and his highest ranking and best show in slams came before the era in the time when all the best players in the world turned pros
rod laver for eg, not only missed 21 slams in a row bang before the start of the open era but also was not allowd to play in many slams in the open era coz he was a contracted pro
he would have easily won more than 20 slams and unlike sampras - borg - federer, laver was a super genius in all of the four slams which is the reason why he is easily the goat meaning greatest of all time.

PT Usha, Ashwini Nachappa, Prakash Padukone, Pullela Gopichand , Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, Anil Kumble, VVS Laxman, Karnam Malleswari, Sania Mirza, IN Vijayan, Dhanraj Pillai, JJ Sobha, Anju Bobby George, CK Nayudu, Mohd Azharuddin, etc. etc.. are not only the greatest sportspersons India has ever produced but they are also South Indians.
North Indians are only good at spouting loud mouthed nonsense like mohit above and cleaning toilets and driving lorries.
Their achievements are virtually nill in every field.

He was a wonderful criketer who had a fantastic record
All those who are cutting, well its typical indian tendncy, anybody who says anything even minutely against India has to be cut left, right and centre
Will our(Indian)countrymen wake up and smell the coffee
The biggest reason why australia is such a great sport country(despite of a population of only 21 million)is coz they are demanding and criticl towards their athletes whereas the reason why India is such a poor sport country(despite of a population of 1.2 billion)is coz of looking from one eye and living in hype
what jason has said about the indin batsman is a fact
and do not forget that it was jason who was the best bowler in the 2004 series and the first world cup match against india in 2003
can't indians look at facts?

I 100% agree with you. We indians are not ready to take the criticism. We don't think logically sometimes.

But one thing. Sachin is overrated and overhyped. This is utter bulshit dialogue rom you. You are praising Jason as wonderful cricketer and fantastic record. This guy doen't come in top 10 of anybody's list. Where as sachin gets into top 10 of everybody's list. Go to Warne's, bradman's, wisden's etc.... How the hell can you say sachin is overhyped. Do you have a chicken brain???

but overhyped and overrated Tendulkar is coz he is from a country that is completely sold out to hype like no tomorrow and like no other
Tendulkar is the best batsman of his generation
but u crazy, stupid fellow, look at the overglorification of cricketers in our country never mind that cricket is a sport of only a few of the commonwealth nations

People just die for them. See beckham , michael jordan ..they are being worshipped like gods..If it comes to sportsman worship..indians are nothing infront of them.

Dude..Baseball is played in very few countries. But in US some of thier players are treated as superstars. To some extent Basketball too. Though it mainly a big sport in American continent..the players there are treated as Demigods.. How does it make any difference if cricket is played by only commonwealth countries or balah blah..It is the sport that we do get enjoyment and the best performer will be treated as super star here. Can you say same thing to Michael jordan by citing the reason that Basketball is faous mainly in Sub-continent. (though this sport is known to lot of countires few countries do participate or treat it as a main sport in thier country).

u r writing all crap in all ur posts on this thread
u are nuts and in need of a screw driver for your brain, really, indeed
baseball like cricket is not a globally popular sport but basketball is
and american athletes are popular but not demigods
in india, the stupid public and the rotten media goes beserk about all cricketers, even ordinary and average ones, you know india have won only 22 percent of its test matches in its history and is placed no 7 out of ten teams in that regard.
lets put into perspective, australia have won more than twice the percentage of test matches in its history compared to India and are no 1 in the table in that regard but they do not get even one percent of hype and attention in oz compared to indian cricketers in India
The best word to dscribe indian cricket is hype
Indian are easily the most overrated athletes in the world

I have always wondered who is the 'adhinayak' and 'bharat bhagya vidhata',whose praise we are singing. I thought might be Motherland India!
Our current National Anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' is sung throughout the country.
Did you know the following about our national anthem, I didn't.
To begin with, India 's national anthem,Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka, was written by Rabindranath Tagore in honour of King George V and the Queen of England when they visited India in 1919.
To honour their visit Pandit Motilal Nehru had the five stanzas included, which are in praise of the King and Queen. (And most of us think it is in the praise of our great motherland!!

In the original Bengali verses only those provinces that were under British rule, i.e. Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat , Maratha etc..were mentioned. None of the princely states were recognized which are integral parts of India now Kashmir, Rajasthan, Andhra, Mysore or Kerala.
Neither the Indian Ocean nor the Arabian Sea was included, since they were directly under Portuguese rule at that time. The Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka implies that King George V is the lord of the masses and Bharata Bhagya Vidhata is 'the bestower of good fortune'.
Following is a translation of the five stanzas that glorify the King: First stanza: (Indian) People wake up remembering your good name and ask for your blessings and they sing your glories.
tava shubha naame jaage; tava shubha aashish maage, gaaya

1.Adhinaayaka means GOD. Tagore ahs inherently reference GOD in evey of this peom

2. All the southrn states are known as Dravidian States. Tagore has mentioned the word Dravida to cover all the south indian states.
3. Its true that few amendments are made inorder to make National Anthem precise. It cannot have so many stangas and very lengthy.

The cockandbull story that you ahve given is made up by some indian separatisist..don't beleive in these..

Controversy exists regarding the appropriateness of Jana Gana Mana as the national anthem of an independent India. The poem was composed in December 1911, precisely at the time of the Coronation Durbar of George V, and is considered by some to be a paean in praise of "the overlord of India's destiny". The composition was first sung during a convention of the then loyalist Indian National Congress in Calcutta on Dec. 27, 1911.[10] It was sung on the second day of the convention, and the agenda of that day devoted itself to a loyal welcome of George V on his visit to India. The event was reported thus in the Indian press:

"The Bengali poet Babu Rabindranath Tagore sang a song composed by him specially to welcome the Emperor." (Statesman, Dec. 28, 1911)
"The proceedings began with the singing by Babu Rabindranath Tagore of a song specially composed by him in honour of the Emperor." (Englishman, Dec. 28, 1911)
"When the proceedings of the Indian National Congress began on Wednesday 27th December 1911, a Bengali song in welcome of the Emperor was sung. A resolution welcoming the Emperor and Empress was also adopted unanimously." (Indian, Dec. 29, 1911)

Words are just words. There will be several different interpretations of them.

What really matters is what do you FEEL when you sing (or speak) those words. The rest just doesn't matter.
