I think we are nation of losers. We want new person to come up in life. Once they have come up, we pull them down by saying bad things about them. We made sourav Hero and then Villain. We made sachin God and also satan. It is bad. The decision is taken by supposed to be five wise men and we should leave it to them.
I can't understand how they ignored viru's performance in tests and gambhir's performance in t-20. Gambhir scored a match-winning 75 in the final of t-20 WC when dhoni and yuvi did'nt do much and final performance of a world cup must count for something. Same for viru he got a 300 against sa, 150 odd against aus and 200 against sl how many batsmen can boast of such a record in one season.

Gambhir was not nominated, it was surprising. Gambhir should be nominated in ODI also.
I can't understand why sehwag was not nominated for the test player of the year and gambhir for t-20 player of the year. Viru has a 300 against sa, 150 odd against aus and a 200 against sl, how can such performances be overlooked? And same applies for gambhir as well, look at his consistent performances in the t-20 Wc, a lot of credit went to dhoni and only dhoni for his captaincy but it's conviniently forgotten that gambhir scored 75 which was nearly 50% of our score in the finals? Is this some conspiracy on the part of dhoni and BCCI to keep these players out as thry are not commercialy as viable as dhoni and yuvi?

But it can be dis-heartening for a player like gambhir becoz all the credit of the t-20 WC went to the likes of dhoni, yuvraj and even joginder. Actually the most consistent performers for us in the WC were RP singh and gambhir. I have absolutely no objection regarding mahi and yuvi doing all the ad's but when it comes to rewarding people for their performance on the field it should be based on performance alone and not the popularity of a player. Even in the media nowadays every victory is attributed to only dhoni and when we lose all the blame is put on other players which is unfair. Give credit where it's due. And purely in terms of ability gambhir is a better player than dhoni.
