prashant pandey
greatest fast bowler in the history
by prashant pandey on Sep 05, 2008 04:19 PM

Its got be one and the only wasim akram...
he is the magician of the ball, the in-out swingers, the bouncers, the reverse swings,...he doesnt break till the end of the match...with such an incredibly short runup...plus his left armer status...makes him different and unique...till his late 30s he use to bowl with the same ferocity...whether its shoib or waqar bowling...wasim stands out different...he is a sort of artist of bowl or u can say that wasims bowling is artistic, human and beautiful compared to mcgraths tight, scienticfic(line and length, always on the spot), disciplined, boring and mechanical...akram was more experimental...
so hats off to the left hander...

Curtly Ambrose was a much better bowler.

Curtly Ambrose was a much better bowler then Mcgrath. Showed great sportsmanship as well.

As for all time great bowlers for me it is Wasim Akram and Ambrose.

As for India it would be Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev.

Macgrath is all time best(because he dominates on both ODI and Test).
Wasim Akram dominates in only ODI, same for Ambrose.
Walsh dominates in test.
Waqar also dominates in ODI only.

Mcgrath an abusive Great
by rahul tiwari on Sep 05, 2008 12:32 AM  | Hide replies

6 feet 6 inch tall, unbreakable accuracy, off the sim movement, classic out swing, continious short piches, exceptional yorker, a real aussy atitude, the man is called Glen Mcgrath. He had a royal career, he reached all the heights in his career, most dangerous baller, who not only used to speak(abusively threaening),he used to break the backbones of team.A baller who was thread to opposition batsman, targetting the most dangerous batsman say mike artherton, lara, tendulkar, is a legend. He was undoubtly an abusive baller, teacher of player like symonds, andre nel or sreesanth. he will be also known for his spit scandal, and sarvan scandal..He faced a tragedy in his life...But personally he was lot different guy, he saved Steve Waugh's family, when his house caught fire, he ran for 10 km to reach there. He, in memory of his lovey wife has started a foundation. Hats off for this activity

Now that he has retired but whenever I think about him I cant help but think about his verbal shouting match with Ramesh Sarwan..Australia lost the match badly.but that episode showed him in a bad taste..Though it must be said that Tendulkar could never read him and was never comfortable batting against him..Mcgrath Vs tendulkar..Mcgrath always won...

I remember Sachin dominating Mcgrath in the mini world cup at South Africa. Sachin scored some 40 , but ended up disturbing Mcgrath's length - And, was eventually capitalized by Sourov and Yuvi, if I remember it correctly.

Sachin was seen constantly coming down the track to hit Mcgrath over his head.

Endulkar got out to Mcgrath in 1999 WCUP in England for 0 or 4 i think chasing 287
WCUP 2003 he got to him both times for cheap scores
So many times he got to Mcgrath in Tests but his fans always say he bashed Mcgrath all over the park.So typical..lol...

But you must also remember the fact he was chasing very targets of 284 & 359 in WC99 & WC03, which put immense pressure on Sachin....But it is for sure that sachin never ever dominated mcgrath

For such a great cricketer and a strong personality, the name "pigeon" is quite a pejorative...

Pigeon is genrally associated with weak spineless people and the bird itself is an absolute pest...highly dispensable bird which should be kiled in thousands each year to save crops and foodgrains!!

Let us call Glenn McGrath a lion or a tiger...cos throughout his career as well as his personal front, he fought like a tiger!! Even when his wife was dying, he never lost hope and kept battling till she breathed her last...he surely deserves a better name than Pigeon...
