It is rediculous when people like Lalit modi comment on recognition of ICL type tournaments who is satisfying almost all rules of ICC and run by hundreds of good cricketing minds. I am proud that someone like Col. Kapil and his teammates from allover the world has joined together and started a new venture to nurture good cricketers. My wishes are with them and I always pray to GOD that such platform should be built to nurture good talents !! thanks
Re: Is it legal to ban ICL players to come to national team ?
by Manav Das on Oct 31, 2008 05:50 PM
no they cannot. If ICL players file a case, then BCCI have no other option but to let them play. For eg., the player is just like any worker like us and they have the freedom to play/work wherever they wish.
The BCCI is not even authorised by the govt of India but since they have been around for so long and with political masters like Sharad Pawar at the helm, the BCCI puffs on..
I am a fan of IPL and Raj Royals but what they are doing to ICL just doesnt seem right!
Mr Dev quit the coach role in National Cricket Academy in Chennai opposing the substandard food provided to trainee. He launched ICL and gave good facilities to upcoming cricketer. Hail Kapil the REBEL. Slap on face on businessman like Modi.

Even if we take him as a businessman atleast he is giving a chance to those players who were totally ignored even after having so much of talent. Someone like Dinesh Mongia , Ambati Rayudu , Sreeram and lots and lots of others who would have never ever got a chance to show their real talent.
And atleast Kapil is a man who has given so much to Indian and International cricket. He is one who has dedicated his life to cricket. Not someone like modi who does not even understands the basics of cricket.
I think all ICL players should build a temple of kapil dev and worship him because atleast he gave them a chance to show their talent.
Modi claims in advertisement that IPL was his dream where as everyone knows that modi copied the framework of ICL and IPL had the backing of one of the richest board in world. More over it was just star power which brought the atraction to IPL. there is absolutely no match between ICL and IPL as one is dream child of one Person(Subhash Chandra)which is providing a stage to raw and hidden talents Other is spoilt child of BCCI . Look how many upcoming players got beinfitted from IPL. Still the Indian Team is same which use to be prior to IPL.
First he copied each and everything from ICL and then with the BCCI money they started the IPL now he is afraid because he believe that IPL will loose it ground once ICL become official, but no body is thinking about those yound buddying cricketers who with dream of playing for india is strangled in between such petty politics i think enough is enough sports ministry shoul involve and either make ICL official or ban both IPL and ICL

i totally agree.. ICL should also b given the " OFficial"..status.. it requires tremendous guts.. to stand parallel to the system.. for the sake of cricket..in a country where cricket is religion.. m sure.. ICL can co exist..just like India has.. "over 3000 GODS"..i would say.. hats off Zee group.. well done..! and dont call..ICL as "Rebel" its IPL that..came second..so IPL should be labeled as "REBEL"
