Katich gone.....
by Anurag Rathore on Oct 31, 2008 11:11 AM

34.1 Mishra to Katich, OUT, bowled em! There's the breakthrough, Katich undone by Mishra's flight, that was tossed up into the rough, luring him into another flick from outside off stump, except he misses and the ball sneaks back through the gap to disturb the furniture
SM Katich b Mishra 64 (116b 10x4 0x6) SR: 55.17

Captaincy.....
by Anurag Rathore on Oct 31, 2008 10:30 AM  | Hide replies

3 days are enough to bowled out any team twice. If pitch is too flat then 20 overs more can't make any difference. Might be we have 1 wicket of Aussies. It couldn't make any difference.
Not a bad decision at all.
But I have doubt on Kumble's captaincy. He should use 5th bowler(Sehwag and Sachin) wisely on 4th and 5th day. They both can capitalize the rough patches of wickets. In recent matches Kumble didn't use them.
Currently he is trying to take all the wickets alone.

Hayden and Katich are getting edges on Ishant's bowling. Kumble didn't use Ishant with new bowl very well. Now both batsman have set.
Still I hope we have enough time to win this test.

From cricinfo-
Ken, on email, echoing the sentiments of about 20 other emails I've read this morning: "The difference between Kumble and Dhoni as captain is that Dhoni make things happen. Can't understand Kumble starting ahead of Ishant. As great as he has been for India Kumble now needs to hand the mantle to Dhoni."

No, Not agree with you. Ishant is good infact 'll be very good as he play more cricket at Test Lavel, but remember we have two leggie so they can't operate at the same time. So tell me ? wat kumble can do with that resources. Had he got Bhajji, It could have been the way you think.... but not with Misha.

They are getting runs with edges.
What about field placement?
Where are slips?

see, Dhoni had drop as many as catches of Hussy, as many as Kumble's innigs so far. In the morning, Kumble set up an attacking field as 6 filders around the batsman, if Dhoni misses the ball , and ball passed to the boundary, wat can he do.. tell me?

From cricinfo-
Poor captaincy from Kumble, standing at at short extra, arms folded. Ishant is trying hard, he's got two edges, twice they have gone through where gully and second slip would be.

why everyones talking about kumbles 600 wkts....what it has to got to do with captaincy...hes good player not a good captain...one biggest mistake wht hes done in kotla was tht he shudnt have gone above 500 making it impossible for aus to win...when u give them hope they will try harder ... so now tht all they got to do is defend the test ... this is not aggressive cricket... so whoever morons here are talking about kmbles captaincy with his no. of wickets...they know shit about cricket...

why are you doubting at Kumble's credebilities. The way he handled and manage the team after the sydney test is incredible. Why don't you blame the selector not to choose him, ahead of Gunguly long back, when he was on top. You can't judge anybody just from 3 test series. Why don't you take a positive sign. Its a learning curve for Dhoni who 'll be the next best captain. In a four series, it is certain that Kumble will get injured and the other match Dhoni 'll captain like the Mohali Test. Captaining 5 or 6 Test match 'll make Dhoni a pefect for the Position. Don't u think That?

Kumble is feeling pressure because of captaincy. He should play as non-captain.

did u forget wat he had done in Australia, 20 wkts man, 20 wkts. Its all bout the expectation we had from these guys. One failure, and we think he had gone. Kumble need one wkts in this series, had Dhoni catch hussy in the banglore test, he could hv been devastrating at th is moment. Just watch out for tommorw. Then u comment.

His average in last 1 year is more than 52.
Is it good?
He is not performing since last 4 series.
