IT is exactly because of people like u that Aussie sledgers get away with no fines. Everyone saw clearly Katich blocking gambir..no if there was a run out, it would have been a case of most negative sportsmanship rite?? Thank god for NDTV(hindi) which spent 20 mins atleast in discussing this issue. Because only then people like mahim will realise that its India which always plays in the spirit of the game. Aussies are just cheaters and they show some superficail charity work to get ads/publicity(ex: lee in album,movies...waugh for numerous ads etc). Our cricketers are far more real and down to earth.

Oh! Yeah! Its all in a days play. While you are out there playing a professinal game, you can shout abuses about your wife and parentage, send personal remarks and then, "shake hands' at the end of the day - Oh! For heaven's sake, so very gentlemanly...

Go get a life you piece of shit...

Oh! Here is my hand, shake it... don't retaliate to my abuse...

Also, as you said 'if nothing happened, its a game played between men and not big girls.'

Why Clark was crying about Watson incident and involving Match Referee in it?

What happened to all the big Aussie talk that 'we play hard and whatever happens on the field stays on the field??'

These Aussies are really bunch of big girls as you said..

Why Laxman is never involved
by Crick fan on Oct 30, 2008 02:14 PM  | Hide replies

How many great innings Laxman has played? How many against Aussies. He is Aussie Assasin. He must have been intimidated so many times. This guy just smiles back ever if some one is showing eyes and keeps batting. Never looses cool. That is one good way to with Aussies.

Last time I saw Laxman on TV, he was speaking fluent English with absolutely zero to none grammatical mistakes..

He smiles because he is Indian, probably the most friendliest people in the world..

Katich Should be fined
by VBL on Oct 30, 2008 12:07 PM  | Hide replies

Katich incident was very ugly on first day. He should be fined. Lets see how the ICC treats this matter for the whites. I am sure they should have fined if some Asian player behaved the way katich did.

Before that the Indian team management should make appropriate complaints on Katisch. This is a off-field battle, it should be managed properly. You can see Clark is already making use of media to highlihgt the tift between Gambhir and Watson. It needs professional approach and a team to specifically work on these issues. I am sure Ozs may have stats to show how many times sledging helped them to pick wickets. They may also have specific sledging that may be more sensitive to particular teams such brown (Asian) or black or opposite white teams.

Sledging and Punishments
by bulusu sreenivas on Oct 30, 2008 11:55 AM

Ozs are known to use their sledging as an extra variation to their bowling when things do not go their way. But why they never get punished for that? You can imagine that Zaheer Khan who had hurled some comments at Hayden when he was out at Mohali was punished then why not Katich or Watson or for that matter all those players who wore baggie green caps all these years. Well, I suppose they evolved some form of sledging that can not be booked (that must be only reason otherwise it must be apartheid). If they are sledging innovatively, then Indian team management should be able to come out with counterfeit strategies. If ever an incident takes place on the field there must be an immediate meeting and strategies to use them. In fact there must be staged incidents (like the Ozs always do) so that the aggression is conveyed. Whenever India does well with bat or ball they should intensify the taunting (within books) the Ozs so that maximum punch is delivered. Of course the killer punch would always to win the game, but if you win from all fronts, it will be very satisfying. Finally if one decides to fight the fire with fire, they should adopt strategies for that.

Even if one chooses to discount his fielding skills, captaincy skills and the fact that he has won two world cups for his country, Ponting would be in the playing 11 of any team in the world for his batting skills alone.

He is a match-saver, a match-winner, he HIMSELF has rarely been involved with spats and dirty sledging (a little heat is always welcome).

Just cuz the Australians are generally regarded as dirty players, sledgers and whatnot, people are accusing Ponting of things he doesn't deserve.

A little respect, folks. Ponting is an asset to Australia. So much so, the moment India gets Ponting, aussies are on the backfoot instantaneously.

He is their dravid, mr. consistent, their sachin, the record breaker, their ganguly, captain material, their laxman, the stylist.

he is Australiaz Fab four. Some respect, guys.

Mr. Haris.. How many times you post the same message?
No doubt Ponting is a good player but he is not a good sports man as he does not have a sportsman spirit. He should learn it from Sachin or Steve Waugh.

Truth Be Told
Re: .
by Truth Be Told on Oct 30, 2008 10:52 AM
My bigoted friend, Ponting is nothing of the kind. Compared to past great Australian captains like Richie Benaud, Bobby Simpson & even Steve Waugh he is unadulterated Aussie scum, the kind that can be dredged up any time from the filthy Yarra river. Granted that his batting record has been up there with the very best but that's where the accolades must stop. Ponting has cheated, sledged & dragged Aussie cricket to its lowest level yet and if the ACB had any fairness or guts (they are woefully short on both counts) Ricky "Get-'em-out-anyhow" Ponting should long back have been replaced as captain.

Mild Aggression with the BAT, as they call it, is what is needed.. not aggressive behaviour. Good job keeping cool.
