Belive me this guy is down to earth I meet him in Sydney, he passed on my way, initially I could not recognized him but when he check in the hotel, I heard munaf(patel) calling him by his name. I am affraid people should not take him for wrong reason for waston incidence..my THE best wishes for him...keeping going gambhir..
its really difficult to shine when you have so many greats around you. Gambhir has really blossomed well.Everybody cannot a Tendulkar/Dravid/Pontings. There will be some chinks in the technique. Those chinks can be covered up with Mental Concentration. Gambhir, though he comes accross as a very reserved person, when he was younger, he was very aggressive. That showed in his batting. He could not resist HOOKs / PULLs at all. Now that he has matured, He is showing tremendous application. GREAT Going Gambhir.
Even if one chooses to discount his fielding skills, captaincy skills and the fact that he has won two world cups for his country, Ponting would be in the playing 11 of any team in the world for his batting skills alone.
He is a match-saver, a match-winner, he HIMSELF has rarely been involved with spats and dirty sledging (a little heat is always welcome).
Just cuz the Australians are generally regarded as dirty players, sledgers and whatnot, people are accusing Ponting of things he doesn\'t deserve.
A little respect, folks. Ponting is an asset to Australia. So much so, the moment India gets Ponting, aussies are on the backfoot instantaneously.
He is their dravid, mr. consistent, their sachin, the record breaker, their ganguly, captain material, their laxman, the stylist.

Wow!!! This is the eighth time you are cutting and pasting this message... Looks like you are even older than 55 and retired... or may be retard.
Kotla is such a small ground that every one who can concentrate for brief while can come up with good scores.this ground has lifted the careers of many cricketers from being dumped into oblivion.

I see. You mean very easy wicket. Someobe told me that actually they use different rules at Kotla. e.g. very small boundary distance, use tennis ball, under arm bawling, lbw not allowed, etc. Hmmmm... I like to go and play at Kotla too. I will write a letter to BCCI to select me.

Dinesh is correct. Gambhir made his debut in the fourth test of the 2004-05 series againt Australia. The first test was played in Bangalore and was won by Australia. The second in Chennai was a draw. The third in Nagpur was again won by Australia. The fourth in Mumbai as we all know was won by India. Hemant, know your facts first and then comment on others.

I don't know the basis of the argument. Rediff's article clearly says Gambir's debut was in the fourth and final test. Why dinesh is arguing over it saying the same thing??!!

Rediff had earlier written 'third and final test' which they have now rectified and changed to 'fourth and final'. Better late than never!
